Variant Classic Cantabile Winds TS-450 Antique Yellow Tenor Saxophone ESM Set

Even with the help of a “beginner’s guide” for self-study, I actually managed to produce sounds right away using the included reed and mouthpiece. Reed No. 2, however, was unusable.
The mouthpiece included in the set isn’t suitable for beginners either—the opening is too large. I therefore recommend not ordering the saxophone as part of this set.
The mouthpiece that comes with the saxophone and the reed screw, however, work really well.
Now I’m very curious to see, as I continue to make progress, to what extent I can produce clean tones, how smoothly the keys close, and whether this beginner model is truly a good value or, in the end, just cheap. So far (Day 7), I’m enjoying it.
After upgrading a few things, I’ve realized that a set including a Yamaha C4 mouthpiece and a good (lightweight) plastic reed would make it much easier for a beginner to get started. Maybe that’s a suggestion for Kirstein.
Another recommendation: a saxophone stand, music stand, and cleaning rod. If these were included in a bundle, you could really hit the ground running from day one—unfortunately, that’s not offered.
Now I’m curious to see what the next few weeks will bring and hope to make good progress :-)
