Yamaha YDS-120 Digital Saxophone

I am delighted with the music instrument. It doesn't look like a saxophone but its sound and playability are absolutely great. I can play it without any noise and thus protect my wife and my neighbors, simply with headphones. I play it in an online saxophone school and have a lot of fun with it. I absolutely recommend the Yamaha YDS 120.

For health reasons, my primary goal was to be able to play with significantly less breathing pressure than is possible with my conventional saxophones - and the instrument is very suitable for this! You can reduce the breathing resistance and increase the breathing dynamics to achieve this goal.

With the Yamaha app, I was able to put all the sounds in the right place in a user-defined list relatively easily and optimize them for my purposes. The most important feature: you can transpose all sounds individually - and I really need that, because my main instrument is a somewhat unusual C-tenor saxophone. Now all tenor sounds are in C instead of Bb - perfect!

The instrument integrates into the band without any problems because the samples used for the sound generation were taken from real instruments in whole tone steps.

The only somewhat critical points for my application are the 3.5 mm jack output (instead of XLR or at least 6.3 mm jack) and the use of AAA rechargeable batteries, which are somewhat short-lived. But these are minor issues, which are also due to the very compact and lightweight design.

All in all, an excellent alternative to a whole host of mechanical instruments - if you can get used to the slightly Star Wars-like look...

I would have liked to have the user manual in German. It is very complicated if you do not understand English perfectly.
