Selmer SA80 II: Professional Eb Alto Saxophone!

The "Super Action 80 Series II", also called "Series II", is the oldest model produced in our factory. It features the acoustic qualities of the historic models. Backbone of our catalog, it is the versatile alto par excellence.

This series was the first to use special screws: the so-called compensators. This ensured flawless mechanical function despite natural wear. This technology is now used in all Selmer models.

Compared to the Mark VII, the mechanics of the Super Action 80 were built somewhat more streamlined and the ergonomics were again more aligned with the Mark VI. However, the acoustic advances of the Mark VII were further developed by modifying the dimensions of the S-bow and the crook, and the return to metal resonators enriches the sound with more overtones.

Its still compact acoustics make it the ideal instrument for chamber music or large orchestras. The Super Action 80 Series II is now the longest-standing model ever.
