The Classic Cantabile pocket saxophone is a pretty, handy wind instrument that sounds like a cross between a saxophone and a clarinet. Weighing only 177 g, this compact pocket saxophone – as the name suggests – can easily be taken anywhere. Playing the Classic Cantabile X-20 uses a Bb clarinet reed with French cut! The notes are fingered like a soprano recorder with German fingering.
By the way, it was a Hawaiian who invented this interesting instrument in the 1970s. The X-20, as a woodwind instrument, is especially suitable for beginners because it is relatively easy to play. The fingering technique is reminiscent of a flute. Depending on the blowing technique, the pocket saxophone’s tone can vary from “delicate” to “full and rich.” The Classic Cantabile X-20 comes with a practical case.

What straws can I order from you for this instrument ?

For this instrument, you will need French-style Bb clarinet reeds. The thickness is variable. Here you should try a few and find the right one for you. In the beginning, we always recommend a reed that is not too thick. This set includes two 1.5mm Vandoren reeds.
