About Karl Hanspeter

Karl Hanspeter, born 1958, comes from Altrei in South Tyrol. As a teenager in the 1970s, he toured Europe with the Tyrolean show band. He completed his military service in Cuneo and Brixen, and from 1980 studied at the "C. Monteverdi" Conservatory in Bolzano, graduating three years later as a diploma musician in trumpet.

As an orchestral musician, Karl Hanspeter gained experience and deepened his knowledge in orchestras such as the Haydn Orchestra Bolzano-Trento, the Tyrol Brass Quintet, and the large Bolzano brass ensemble. Despite his classical training, his interest has always included jazz and Bohemian brass music...

For almost fifteen years, he has celebrated success as founder and bandleader of the Big Band Hanspeters Orchestra and the jazz formation Hanspeter Jazz Trio. As a member of the "Bohemian Forest Musicians" and the "Hessen Musicians," he became familiar with traditional brass music. A milestone in his life is his engagement as flugelhorn player and trumpeter with "Ernst Mosch and his Original Egerländer Musicians."

Karl Hanspeter now works as a trumpet teacher at various music schools in South Tyrol and acts as a lecturer at workshops in Germany, Austria, and Italy.
