The CA-50 offers highly precise tuning functionality and a sleek, compact design. The display of the new CA-50 is now even easier to read. Long regarded as the standard among chromatic tuners, the CA-50 provides simple and intuitive operation and a perfect tuning experience for every musician.

Large Display with Note Name Indicator

The CA-50’s LCD screen shows a needle meter for quick and accurate pitch indication and displays a note name in the center of the display. The note name indicator is now larger and even easier to read. This ensures simple and smooth operation even for beginners.

Wide Detection Range for Tuning Any Instrument

The CA-50 features a detection range from A0 (27.50 Hz) to C8 (4186.01 Hz). For wind instruments from piccolo to tuba or string instruments from violin to double bass, you can tune band or orchestra instruments of any pitch. A highly sensitive microphone is built in, so the note name can be accurately detected even without a contact microphone. When using the separately available CM-200 contact microphone, you can be sure that nearby sounds won’t affect the result.

Calibration Function

The calibration function supports a variety of concert tunings. It can be set in 1 Hz increments within the range of 410-480 Hz, allowing flexible tuning that matches the song or key.

Visible Pure Major and Minor Third Intervals

The CA-50’s meter scale offers markings indicating pure major and minor third intervals. By tuning to these marks (when assigning a pure major or minor third, the note to be tuned depends on the music you play), you can create beautiful harmonies when playing in an ensemble. This is practical not only in a brass band or orchestra but also for vocal or a cappella practice.

Sound Out Mode for Ear Training

In "Sound Out" mode, you can hear a reference tone output from the internal speaker. This lets you train your ear. A reference tone in the range of C4 (261.63 Hz) to C5 (523.25 Hz) can be output. You can check the pitch both visually and aurally, allowing for more accurate tuning. Additionally, it’s ideal for training your pitch sense.

Longer Battery Life for More Playing Enjoyment

The CA-50 can be used for about 135 hours (when using zinc-carbon batteries). When the remaining battery capacity is low, the display shows an indicator informing you it’s time to replace the batteries.

No More Tipping Over

A new mechanism reduces the chance of the device tipping over, making it less likely that the tuner will slip and fall from a music stand. You can focus on your playing without worrying about the tuner falling during a performance.

The Memory and Auto Power-Off Function

The memory backup function saves the calibration and sound output mode settings even when the device is turned off. (Settings are reset when you replace the batteries.) The auto power-off function automatically turns off the device after 20 minutes of no input sound.

Last but not least: the stylish design

The folding stand allows the tuner unit itself to be more stable. The battery compartment cover is made from one piece with the device itself, so there’s no risk of losing the cover when changing batteries.
