Josef Klier - Highest Quality From Master Craftsmanship!
The family business traces its roots to Graslitz in the Sudetenland, the town regarded as the cradle of musical instrument making. It was there that the development of the entire industry began. As early as 1669, 12 master violin makers worked in Graslitz. By the outbreak of World War II there were 300 companies employing a total of 3,000 trained musical instrument makers.
JK Mouthpiece "USA Line"
The distinctive feature of the JK USA mouthpiece line is its different cup shape. They are based on the patterns brought back by Army bands from Mount Vernon, New York. Josef Klier discovered the mouthpieces after World War II and fell in love with them immediately: the USA Line was born. Roland Klier then produced faithful copies, which were enthusiastically adopted by the army musicians.
The musician's personal sound ideals and wishes can only be fulfilled with the greatest possible technical precision. That is why Klier uses computer-controlled CNC lathes to manufacture their JK mouthpieces. Only this manufacturing method, with its high positioning accuracy, enables the necessary series precision with tolerances in the µm range (1/1000 mm).
