Josef Klier - Highest Quality From A Master's Hand!
The family business traces its roots to Graslitz in the Sudetenland, the town regarded as the cradle of musical-instrument making. That's where the development of the entire industry began. As early as 1669, 12 master violin makers were working in Graslitz. By the outbreak of the Second World War there were 300 companies employing a total of 3,000 trained instrument makers.
JK Mouthpiece "USA Line"
The special feature of the JK-USA mouthpiece line is the different cup shape. They are based on the patterns of the Army bands who had brought them from Mount Vernon, New York. Josef Klier discovered the mouthpieces after the Second World War and fell in love immediately: the USA Line was born. Roland Klier then made faithful copies that were enthusiastically adopted by the Army musicians.
The player's personal sound preferences and wishes can only be met with the greatest possible technical precision. Therefore Klier uses computer-controlled CNC lathes to manufacture their JK mouthpieces. Only this production method, thanks to its high positioning precision, enables the necessary serial accuracy with tolerances in the micron range (thousandths of a millimeter).
