Josef Klier - Top Quality From Master Craftsmanship!
The family business originated in Graslitz in the Sudetenland, the city regarded as the cradle of musical instrument making. This is where the entire industry began. As early as 1669, 12 violin makers worked in Graslitz. By the outbreak of World War II, 300 companies employed a total of 3,000 trained instrument makers.
JK Mouthpiece "USA Line"
The special feature of the JK-USA mouthpiece line is the unique cup shape. They are based on patterns from Army bands who brought them from Mount Vernon, New York. Josef Klier discovered these mouthpieces after World War II and fell in love immediately: the USA Line was born. Roland Klier then crafted faithful copies, which were enthusiastically embraced by the Army musicians.
The musician’s personal sound ideals and wishes can only be met with the highest technical precision. That’s why Klier uses computer-controlled CNC lathes to manufacture their JK mouthpieces. Only this production method, with its high positioning accuracy, allows the necessary serial precision with tolerances in the micrometer range (thousandths of a millimeter).
