As a traditional manufacturer of wind instruments, Lechgold also offers individual alphorn handpipes! Available in 5 versions and 3 tunings, everyone finds the right handpipe for their instrument.

With one (or more) additional handpipe(s), you not only have the opportunity to expand your own repertoire by many pieces. Also when playing together with other wind players – for example at alphorn gatherings – you remain flexible and always right at the forefront.

Different Tunings Through Optional Handpipes

By using a different handpipe, you can quickly and easily change the tuning of your alphorn. This option allows you to play a larger repertoire of pieces without having to carry a complete second instrument. This saves weight, space, and money.

Gold-Anodized Connecting Sockets

Absolute airtightness is guaranteed by the 3 rubber sealing rings on the handpipe’s connecting socket. This highest quality connection technique was adopted from the Lechgold "top-class" alphorn and is now used on all Lechgold alphorns and handpipes.

The gold-anodized connections are extremely abrasion-resistant and guarantee a perfect fit over years. Rubbing or mutual oxidation is excluded, ensuring that the precisely manufactured connecting sockets seal optimally airtight.

Light and Clean Response

Thanks to the new connecting sockets, all individual parts of the Lechgold alphorns offer absolute precision fit, so that even when using optional handpipes, perfect response and intonation are guaranteed.

100% Made in Austria

Lechgold alphorns and handpipes are crafted with great care from Austrian woods of higher Alpine regions. It is important that the tree grew slowly, so the annual rings are close together. This allows improved vibration. The wood is slowly dried over several years to avoid tension and warping.
