Hawaiian guitar with soprano scale!
The Classic Cantabile US 100 features a lacquered basswood body and neck from select maple wood. With the smooth guitar mechanics, tuning the ukulele is a breeze. The ukulele is fitted with nylon strings. Due to the compact size it can be used perfectly as an instrument for traveling, as it can very easily be put in a backpack or gig bag.
Originally brought by Portuguese immigrant Joao Fernandes in 1879 Braguinha, a local form of the cavaquinho, from Madeira to Hawaii. There it got the name "ukulele (jumping flea), which should reflect the impact of the Hawaiians at the sight of the rapidly moving fingers across the fingerboard of the instrument. From Hawaii, the ukulele came to Europe and was also well received in the music scene. Ever since Stefan Raab and "TV Total", the ukulele is a real cult musical instrument in Germany also!

I bought the same one in purple. This one in sunburst I gave to a 3 year old guitar fan who thanked me with shining eyes.
But of course I tuned it before and tried it out.
Is very well playable.

Comes with strings on with low tension and untuned, so it doesn't keep tuning until the second day. But I find this useful for transport, as otherwise the tension could become too great and the neck could tear off with the temperature fluctuations.
The fretboard behind the last fret towards the soundhole is not sawed cleanly, so that wood fibers are torn out. At least the area has been properly reworked, but a critical eye can see it. It was the same with my violet one. I do not find that bad and for 17 € also acceptable and the little boy who got it as a gift, it has not noticed at all. Nevertheless, I deduct one star for this.
But of course I tuned it before and tried it out.

As expected, the string action at the nut was not set correctly and needed a little correction. Likewise, the wood at the bridge was sharp-edged and needed to be filed soft. This was all done very easily and quickly. If you are not familiar with the configuration of the instrument and you are an inexperienced beginner, your enthusiasm will be slowed down. Otherwise "The jumping flea" is a pure joy for this small price and makes now my 7 years old granddaughter much joy!
