For more than forty years the name Superstar has stood for groundbreaking design, high-quality workmanship, brilliant tone and clear projection. Once again, Superstar Classic upholds that tradition by raising the bar for discerning drummers—remarkably doing so while also lowering the price. The classic Tama T-shape badge and the Low-Mass Single Lugs, based on Superstars of the past, nod to the simpler vibe of the '70s, while the ingenious Star-Mount system and the new, thinner maple shells put everything that came before in the shade.
Features
Maple and Lacebark Pine Shells
Sound is the top priority in the production of the Superstar series. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the Superstar drums were achieved through the use of carefully selected woods, specialized manufacturing techniques and first-class bearing edges. The 7 mm thick bass drum shell consists of six plies of maple with two outer plies of Lacebark Pine, while the snare and toms each use four plies of maple with two outer plies of Lacebark Pine for a shell thickness of 5 mm.
Power Craft II Heads
All Superstar "Power Craft II" heads deliver a great sound virtually straight out of the box! Thanks to the ring dampers on the bass drum heads, no additional internal damping is required.
Bass Drum Claws
These claw hooks stabilize the wooden hoops on the bass drum and feature an integrated rubber lining that protects the wood and helps keep the tuning stable even during long performances.
Tom Holders
Tama's Omnisphere mounting systems with L-rods have been valued by drummers for over 25 years. These systems allow easy positioning, provide maximum flexibility and stability, and deliver better tone than conventional mounts that penetrate the shell and can compromise resonance.
Low-Mass Lugs
These new lugs designed for the Superstar Classic series have minimal contact with the shell and do not affect the tone.
Star-Mount System
The Star-Mount system was developed to enhance the toms' vibrational behavior. Secured by four tension screws, its slim design still allows the toms to be positioned very close together.
Comes With a Complete Hardware Package
The Superstar Classic comes with a full hardware package consisting of a bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand and two boom cymbal stands.
All Superstar Classic sets are equipped with a dual tom holder mounted on the bass drum, single-ply "Power Craft II" heads and wooden hoops on the bass drum.
