The minilogue xd impresses just like its little brother, the minilogue, with 4-voice polyphonic analog synthesis. The analog synth circuit of the minilogue, whose authentic analog sound amazed the synth scene, has been significantly further developed with the minilogue xd.

The minilogue xd operates with a voice structure of 2VCO + MULTI ENGINE, 1VCF, 2EG, 1VCA, and 1LFO. In addition to typical circuits of this product line, such as wave shaping to influence the oscillator’s overtones and a sync/ring switch, cross modulation, a steep 2-pole filter, and a drive switch are available, which compresses signals and routes them to the minilogue xd’s filter. Every parameter has been finely tuned to musicians’ needs. The sound palette ranges from analog-typical warm pads through fat basses to crisp lead voices and performs reliably in every playing situation.

More Potential With Digital Multi-Engine

In addition to two analog VCOs, a multi-engine as a third oscillator opens up further digital sound design possibilities. This engine features three different sound generator types (noise, VPM, and user slot) with completely different characteristics than analog signals. You can use them in parallel with the analog engine, drastically expanding the potential of hybrid sound design.

High-Quality Digital Effects

The minilogue xd’s high-quality digital effects with their 32-bit floating-point DSP unit put the finishing touch on this powerful sound design platform. The three effect types (modulation, reverb, and delay) can be used simultaneously and allow for diverse variations, including chorus, ensemble, warm tape delay, and various reverbs. You can load your own effect programs into the user effect slots.

Limitlessly Customizable

Another advantage of the minilogue xd is its user-customizable programming environment. The analog synth provides 16 user oscillators and 16 user effect slots. Oscillators and user programs developed with the SDK (Software Development Kit) can be loaded into the minilogue xd using the corresponding librarian software.

Polyphonic Step Sequencer With 16 Buttons

The integrated step sequencer supports both real-time and step recording. With the 16-step buttons, you can directly select steps to change their pitch, mute them, or improvise the step sequence. The motion sequence lets you record up to four knob movements over time or save exact values for each step. This way, you can shape a sound differently at every step and, for example, create drum patterns or sound effects with just one program. The space for ideas is limitless.

Controls pitch bend, modulation depth, etc. You can assign any parameter to its up/down axis.

Voice Mode

Four voice modes are available

• POLY: Operates as a 4-voice polyphonic synth
• UNISON: Operates as a monophonic synth playing four voices unison
• CHORD: Chords are generated with one to four voices
• ARP / LATCH: (ARP) The arpeggiator can be used with up to four voices even while the sequencer is running / (LATCH) toggles the latch function on or off

Additionally, a voice mode depth control lets you apply a corresponding effect to each mode.

Micro Tuning

With the micro-tuning function inherited from the monologue, you can individually adjust the pitch of each key. In addition to 23 tuning presets, some developed by Dorian Concept and Taylor McFerrin, you can create and save 6 user scales and 6 user octaves. Try the tuning presets of famous musicians first, then create your own tunings.

Oscilloscope and Motion View Display

The oscilloscope function lets you display the sound as a waveform of the electrical signal on the enlarged organic EL display. The real-time visible parameter changes provide visual feedback and enhance understanding of the synthesizer’s operation. In the display’s motion view mode, you can also visualize the movement of a stored motion sequence.
