The MP11SE is equipped with the Grand Feel action and wooden keys that — thanks to Kawai's 90 years of piano-building experience — deliver an exceptionally realistic touch. All eighty-eight black and white keys are made entirely from long wooden components and feature an ivory-like IvoryTouch surface that absorbs moisture and gives the player a secure grip and excellent control. Each key moves smoothly on a balance rail — the same mechanism used in a grand piano. The key length of the new Grand Feel keyboard (measured from the front edge to the balance rail pin) is longer than that of any other digital piano keyboard. When a key is struck, just like on the acoustic original, a weighted hammer moves upward, while added weights in the front part of the bass keys make pianissimo playing easier. In addition, the Grand Feel keyboard is fitted with 3 sensors per key and a let-off simulation that ensures perfect control at pianissimo dynamic levels.

The MP11SE reproduces the superb sound of the Kawai concert grands SK-EX, SK-5 and EX. All 88 keys of these exceptional grand models were meticulously recorded and analyzed. The unique character of each note and the wide dynamic range allow the pianist to express an emotional performance — from soft pianissimo to powerful fortissimo. The integrated Virtual Technician function makes it easy to alter the tonal character of these acoustic piano sounds. For example, you can adjust the intensity of string and damper resonance or the noise of returning hammers. These personal settings can then be enhanced with a reverb effect that adds additional spatial depth to the sound.

Sub Section: High-Quality Strings, Pads, Basses and More

The MP11SE's Sub section provides high-quality strings, pads, basses and other useful sounds that are ideal for splits and zones, as layers under pianos or electric pianos, or for individual performance. You can also add bell, air and voice layers and shape these sounds via flexible ADSR parameters and resonance/cut-off controls.

MIDI Out Section: Four-Zone Master Keyboard Controller

Of course the MP11SE includes master keyboard functions. Use the MIDI section to control external MIDI devices or to use the MP11SE as the master in your studio. Assignable knobs send MIDI controllers, and the recorder's transport buttons can operate as MMC remote controls for your DAW. Simple operation makes studio life easier. The MP11SE also offers a controllable LINE-IN for connecting another keyboard, expander, audio player or a computer line-out, making an extra mixer unnecessary.

Intuitive Operation, Large LCD, Real-Time Controls

The MP11SE control panel is clearly structured and logically laid out. All functions are grouped and located where you'd expect them. A large LCD display and four assignable knobs let you tweak parameters in real time without diving into menus — so you can focus on playing instead of fighting complicated controls.

USB-to-Device Functionality with MP3/WAV/SMF Recording and Playback

The MP11SE's USB ports not only connect to a computer but also allow direct loading and saving of data on a USB storage device. This lets you permanently back up your own sounds or setups and provides security in many live situations. USB storage can also be used to play MP3, WAV or SMF files directly. The A-B loop function makes practicing specific song sections very easy. The USB drive can also be used for direct recording in MP3 or WAV format, with the LINE-IN included in the recording. You can quickly email audio files to bandmates, listen on your MP3 player, or copy them to a computer for further processing or to burn an audio CD.

The MP11SE ships with the GFP-3 triple pedal. This pedal convinces with precise operation thanks to optical sensors on all three pedals. It offers continuous response and supports additional controller assignments.

The Piano Bench

The extra-wide seat features 5 cm thick foam padding that is perfect for long playing sessions and remains comfortable even after hours. The elegant, easy-care and durable faux-leather cover not only looks good but can also be cleaned easily after a sweaty performance.

The smart leg construction is the real highlight of the deluxe keyboard bench. The bench height is set via a robust pin system with four locking positions on the underside of the seat and is secured by a large clamp on the X-frame of the legs. To ensure a stable stance, the pins can be locked with small clamping screws. For easy transport, the legs can be detached from the seat and folded for compact storage.

The Keyboard Stand

This sturdy and versatile stand can be used as either a keyboard or mixer stand. The top surface extends in width from 73 to 110 cm. The strong support legs can be adjusted individually in height.

The soft, wide faux-leather headband of the Pronomic studio headphones automatically adapts to head size, providing a comfortable fit. For long sessions, the extra-large, super-soft, circumaural ear cups prevent excessive pressure and ensure maximum comfort. Superior Transmission

With a low impedance of only 32 ohms, the KH-900 performs convincingly even on low-powered headphone outputs like MP3 players or smartphones, providing punchy sound and enough headroom. The 3.5 mm stereo jack delivers excellent signal transfer. A 6.3 mm stereo adapter is included in the scope of delivery.

Piano Method

Getting started is easy — this motto applies to the revised piano method by Michael Christoph. If you're worried that piano is hard to learn, this method is a must. It introduces the beginner to the instrument in a playful, relaxed way. Starting with familiar, simple melodies and progressing to two-handed playing of full songs, the course also covers theory topics along the way. Reading notation, rhythm, dynamics and much more are integrated into the exercises. Simple practice routines guarantee quick progress.
