Kawai K-500 - Rich Sound and Modern Elegance!

With a height of 130 cm, the K-500 belongs to the category of school pianos. Its strong, solid construction with the large solid spruce soundboard produces an extremely powerful and warm tone. Technical refinements such as a duplex scale and the Neotex key covering, known from Kawai grand piano construction, enhance the sound spectrum and playing feel of the K-500. Extended keys and the Millennium III action, which has set new standards in piano building, guarantee excellent touch control. The K-500 is the ideal instrument for the ambitious pianist, teaching, and accompaniment in schools and conservatories.

Optimal Touch

The feel of the touch is the key to success, inspiration, and artistry. A precise, consistent touch is a hallmark of Kawai.

The Power of Pianissimo

One of the most sought-after attributes of a piano is dynamic balance—the ability to play not only powerful fortissimo but also delicate, expressive pianissimo. The technical advantage of the Millennium III piano action is most evident in its extraordinary ability to produce a perfect pianissimo. It almost sounds strange when Kawai says that pianos impress most when they whisper softly. The revolutionary Millennium III piano action is the secret behind the exact responsive touch of the Kawai K series.

Extended Keys & NEOTEX Key Coverings

Longer keys allow for easier and more even playing feel. The unique NEOTEX key coverings, made from cellulose fibers, offer a surface very close to the texture of natural ivory and ebony. The semi-translucent surface enriched with silicon dioxide absorbs natural oils and skin perspiration, preventing finger slippage. NEOTEX remains hard and durable for many years and, used on both white and black keys, ensures a consistent playing feel across the entire keyboard.

Millennium III Piano Action

The Millennium III action contains parts made from ABS carbon, a composite material of Kawai's patented ABS styrene combined with carbon fibers. ABS carbon is very robust and durable. This allows the action parts to be made lighter without sacrificing strength and stability. The result is a harder, faster action that offers better power transmission, precise control, and higher stability than conventional wooden actions.

Dual Aluminum Hammer Rail

The action rail is the backbone of the action. Kawai's action rail is made from permanently extruded aluminum with a unique "dual-rail" design for extreme strength and stability.

Die-Cast Action Brackets

Made by a die-cast process, the parts are always formed identically. The K series pianos contain three aluminum action brackets manufactured by die-casting to ensure additional strength and consistent stability over a long period.

ABS Carbon Action Parts

The use of ABS carbon makes the action parts incredibly robust. ABS carbon is much stronger than wood and nearly resistant to changes caused by environmental influences and humidity. This unique combination of strength and stability allows for virtually lossless transfer of touch force. The use of ABS carbon offers the pianist a unique playing experience.

Exceptional Sound

Tradition and technology are indispensable elements of piano sound. Tradition lays the foundation for Kawai's distinctive tonal character. Applied technology gives it a lively, broad depth that continues from generation to generation.

Mahogany Hammer Core & T-Clamped, Double Felted Hammers

Mahogany hammer cores are light and therefore responsive. Like the best grand pianos, the hammer parts of the K series are made of mahogany. All hammers in the K series are T-clamped to maintain shape and are additionally padded with an extra felt layer to achieve exceptional sustain.

Tuning Pins

The tuning pins of the K series are made of high-quality steel, with finely machined threads for maximum bidirectional torque. The nickel plating ensures a beautiful appearance and long-term corrosion protection.

Soundboard Rim

The rim bars of the soundboard make the lingering parts of the soundboard similar in contour to a grand piano soundboard, as the sound energy is reflected back to the center to achieve optimal sound strength.

A Strong, Balanced Rasten Construction

The construction of the K series is extremely strong to ensure tone and touch stability over the years. All models feature a soundboard with multi-glued ribs and the cast plate developed by Kawai and manufactured in-house. This design guarantees a stable, well-balanced rasten construction that easily absorbs string tension and thus provides a strong foundation for excellent sound.

Tapered Solid Spruce Soundboard

The soundboard is the heart of a grand piano. Its purpose is to transform string vibrations into a rich, full tone. Kawai exclusively uses spruce with tight growth rings. Each soundboard is tapered to maximize its sound-producing capacity. Only soundboards that meet or exceed Kawai's high standards are installed in their pianos.

Attractive Design

The models of the K series impress with clear lines and tasteful accents that add extra shine to any modern home. The combination of elegant form and rich, full vibrant sound will surely enhance the atmosphere of any room.

Wide Music Desk

The music desk of the K series is built into the key cover and measures one meter in length on the K-600, K-500, K-300, and K-200 models. This allows several music books or exercise books to be placed side by side.

Brass Pedals

Kawai's innovative casting process bonds molten brass around a robust steel core, creating solid, beautifully shaped pedals that are protected against wear over the years.

The Timeless Beauty of the Piano

Modern design brightens the room. A design born from the interplay of new ideas and state-of-the-art technology, built with the highest precision. With its clear lines, the K series gains a simple yet distinctive character that captivates through its beauty.

Soft-Fall Key Cover

The slowly closing "Soft-Fall" system protects both the pianist's hands and the piano surface from damage caused by unbraked falling key covers.

Hello, is the voice sercive on site also included in this price?
Many greetings
CHRISTINE

Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:

Before the piano leaves our warehouse, it is tuned again by a piano maker, regulated as well as checked for proper functionality (quality check). Once your piano has arrived, the subsequent initial tuning by your local piano maker should take place within four months, but no sooner than two months, as the instrument needs some time to acclimatize. Please note that costs for tuning and regulation work incurred after your piano has been delivered are no longer our responsibility. You can find competent piano builders in your area on the homepage of the Bund Deutscher Klavierbauer e. V.: https://www.bdk-piano.de/
