The electribe Sampler is a sample-based production station for quickly and intuitively creating rhythms. Loaded waveforms and preset samples can be freely edited and resampled, while modulations and effects are controlled "analog-style" simply with the panel knobs. A variety of interfaces are optimized for entering rhythms, bass or melodies and support the smooth, intuitive creation of sequences.

The sequences you create can then be developed further on stage or in a laptop. You can connect the electribe to other devices to build a complex setup and realize both live performances and full-scale music productions by exporting sequence data for detailed editing and mixing in Ableton Live. Import Waveforms or Resample

With the electribe Sampler you can load any samples from an SD card and use them for beat making. Custom waveforms created with waveform editing software or third-party sources are stored in 499 user sample slots. Of course you can also connect turntables or instruments to the Audio In jack and sample their signals directly.

You can fundamentally edit loaded waveforms, change their start/end points or pitch, and even create time slices. The attack portion of a phrase is marked and automatically trimmed so it can then be played back at the desired tempo without drastic timbral change. You can also assign slice parts to specific steps or parts and trigger them individually.

Edited sounds, finished phrases or complete real-time performances can be resampled with the electribe's resampling function. Combined with Time Slices, even more possibilities open up: you can modify the order or rhythmic groove of a phrase, or turn multiple parts of a phrase into a single sample and develop new phrases for the now-free parts, creating even more complex patterns.

High-Quality Preset Samples

The electribe Sampler contains a wide array of production-ready sample sources that are usable immediately after power-up and cover virtually every musical style: 179 drum/perc samples such as kicks, snares and other essential sounds for beat making; 33 typical loop samples; 31 voice samples; 37 sound-effect samples; and 123 additional instrument samples with hits, shots and piano, organ, brass and guitar phrases. All samples come from collaborations with renowned companies like Sample Magic, Loopmasters, Prime Loops and Raw Cutz and form the perfect sonic foundation for your own innovations.

In addition, the electribe Sampler offers 16 analog modeling oscillators and three filters that serve as indispensable accents for sample-based productions.

Modulation Section for Quick Access to Powerful Sound-Shaping Parameters

Modulations expand sonic expression and are intuitive to control on the electribe. Modulation sources like EG and LFO are pre-routed to targets such as filter cutoff and oscillator pitch so you only need to select one of 72 modulation types and set the speed and depth parameters to achieve the desired effect.

Large Selection of Insert Effects

A total of 32 insert effects including compressor, overdrive and EQ are available and can be applied individually to all parts. This gives you full control over every nuance of your sound.

From Idea to Pattern in No Time

On the electribe you can enter up to 64 steps (16 steps x 4) per part (sound) and combine up to 16 of those parts per sequence pattern to create rhythms. The electribe's step sequencer makes pattern creation extremely intuitive. The 16 trigger pads and the touch pad with XY control offer various modes that let you input ideas for rhythms and phrases without prior musical knowledge and reproduce them instantly.

Trigger Mode

Ideal for auditioning sounds before recording a sequence. By rhythmically playing the velocity-sensitive trigger pads like a drum kit, you can input impressively authentic drum and percussion patterns.

Sequencer Mode

Ideal for entering rhythms. The 16 trigger pads correspond to 16 steps and allow step-by-step recording of rhythmic patterns. This method lets you see note timing and edit after real-time recording.

Keyboard Mode

Ideal for playing melodies. The 16 trigger pads act as a keyboard where you can play full melodic lines according to the scale/key settings and even change octaves.

Chord Mode

Ideal for playing chords. To sound a chord according to the scale/key settings, simply strike one of the trigger pads.

Touch Pad

Gate Arp Mode

Ideal for inputting bass riffs or hi-hat parts with maximum groove. While playing the trigger pads or the touch pad, the gate arpeggiator can produce rhythmically detailed note values.

Touch Scale Mode

Ideal for musical novices who can't play melodies on a keyboard or are looking for new inspiration. Like the Kaossilator, you simply move your fingertip across the touch pad and, according to the selected scale/key settings, produce phrases without wrong notes.

The electribe allows you to edit sounds seamlessly while entering sequences in parallel. You record the sequence and edit the sound as you listen. Efficient beat making that is difficult to achieve with a DAW alone becomes a stress-free pleasure with the electribe, because you can stay in the flow of the music and be creative.

Last Step Selector to Create Unconventional Time Signatures

The Last Step function changes the number of steps in the selected part. By assigning a different step count to each part you can develop unexpected and unconventional rhythms. This function is also a great way to quickly change the character or length of a song.

Groove Function for Natural Rhythms

There are 25 groove types that reproduce the playing technique and rhythmic feel of percussion instruments like congas and bongos. By choosing a groove type for each part and adjusting its dynamics, you can create an authentic rhythmic feel free from the original 16-step grid.

Real-Time Sequence Control Without Limits

Sequences created with the electribe can be flexibly varied and combined using stage-focused functions. For example, the Step Jump function lets you instantly jump to a pressed step and develop dynamic performances indistinguishable from live shows.

During a live performance you can also add more sounds via the trigger pads or touch pad and be confident that no wrong notes will be played thanks to the scale/key settings. The sequences you create are perfect for stage performances and can be subtly or drastically modified in real time. These dynamic processes are one of the many highlights of the electribe.

Build and Manage Full Arrangements with Pattern Set and Pattern Chain

The Pattern Set function lets you assign your favorite sequence patterns to the trigger pads and switch between them instantly during a performance to vary the rhythm.

Effect Performance in Real Time with X/Y Pad

The touch pad lets you control the master effect freely like a Kaoss Pad. You can shape the overall acoustic space with reverb or use the looper to influence the sequence texture, and trigger aggressive musical transformations like "Seq Reverse" or "Odd Stepper" to create surprising accents in a live performance.

Sync, MIDI and Audio In Jacks

Via its Sync jack the electribe can be easily connected to a volca model, electribe Sampler, SQ-1 or another KORG groove machine to hold complex, sequencer-synced performance sessions. MIDI ports are available for DAW interaction. This lets you expand any laptop-based stage setup with an electribe and its versatile performance features.

Through the Audio In jack you can not only create samples but also apply filters and effects to an external input signal in real time during a performance or switch the output on and off with the step sequencer.

In the past, machine-focused live setups consisted of countless synthesizers, samplers and sequencers. Today the electribe can take on multiple roles, either as the master device at the center of such a setup or as a slave device that adds extra shine to a performance. By experimenting with interconnecting instruments you can develop your own personal live setup.

New Production Workflow Through Interaction with Ableton Live

In addition to conventional audio export, the electribe can also export to the Ableton Live DAW. When exporting the project file to Ableton Live, an independent audio file for each part is saved on a separate track so you can edit every phrase with loop, mute or chop functions and mix the result. Once the musical idea quickly takes shape as a sequence, you can refine the details with the software. This new electribe workflow enables much faster music production thanks to hardware usage.

Event Recorder to Capture Knob Movements During Performances

All actions performed while playing the electribe, including trigger pad and touch pad operation, can be recorded with the Event Recorder function. The recorded performance is saved in a special electribe format and can be replayed immediately with all real-time manipulations.

Battery Operation

The electribe can also run on six AA batteries. That makes you completely location-independent and lets you turn spontaneous inspiration into rhythms and performances anywhere.
