Røde PodMic - The Dynamic Podcast Microphone!

The PodMic was specially designed for voice recordings with the RØDECaster Pro (an optimal preset is already available in the RØDECaster Pro menu for quick selection). Thanks to its standard three-pin XLR connection, it’s also perfect for use in broadcasting, audio drama, and dubbing studios.

This heavy broadcast microphone (937 g) features a professional dynamic cardioid capsule and its own swivel mount, allowing it to be attached to a desk stand (DS1) or boom arm (PSA1) and easily aimed toward the speaker. You can safely skip using a shock mount: the microphone capsule itself is elastically suspended, and the swivel mount is internally decoupled from the body, so you won’t have any issues with handling noise—such as vibrations from the desk. The PodMic is spoken into from the front, with an ideal distance of about 3 to 20 cm.

As a dynamic microphone, the PodMic is significantly less sensitive than a condenser mic, making it ideal for studios and voice rooms dealing with ambient noise and/or challenging room acoustics. Sonically and with its frequency response of 50 Hz - 13 kHz, the PodMic is perfectly tuned for voice transmission: detailed, full, silky, balanced, and always pleasant to listen to.

The double-layer stainless steel grill and a fabric layer over the capsule effectively soften plosives and sibilance without compromising transparency—no external pop filter is needed. The PodMic’s housing is made of solid brass with a scratch-resistant ceramic coating, so it still looks good even after years of use.
