Ideal for city festivals, clubs, live stages, and larger dance events where extended low-end reach is required!
With the LINEAR 5 MK II series, professional performers and rental companies now have more than just a reliable and high-performance everyday tool at hand. The completely redesigned series features remotely controllable DSPs, increased power, and cardioid-capable subwoofers, all state-of-the-art technology. Together with the robust wooden enclosures, the wide range of series components, and the extensive accessory lineup, LINEAR 5 MK II is the powerful and innovative drive for anyone who wants to impress their audience day after day.
Proven Concepts Improved
The LINEAR 5 MK II series is a consistent evolution of the proven and popular LINEAR 5 series. With more power at up to 3 kg less weight, more compact dimensions, and access to digital optimization via the DSP CONTROL software, daily work is elevated to a new level. New series components, such as the proprietary subwoofers and the LINEAR 5 MK II 110 XA and 115 XA fullrange mid/high units, expand the already extensive range of applications.
Rotatable horns with optimal dispersion angles for each mid/high unit make them ideal solutions for cluster setups or stage monitors. Robust wooden enclosures ensure durability and investment protection. Extensive accessories for transport and weather protection, rigging, and mounting make LINEAR 5 MK II a reliable workhorse.

DSP - Powerful and Smart
High-performance integrated DSPs allow users extremely precise tuning of system components. They provide more usable sound pressure before distortion sets in and significantly reduce feedback risk.
Users can not only access four suitable presets directly on the speaker cabinets but also set up larger systems on Mac or PC via Ethernet connection and DSP CONTROL software and make adjustments during the event.
The DSP Out also allows integration of a non-network-capable speaker and independent processing of the signal there with the DSP CONTROL software, regardless of the DSP settings on the speaker.
HK Audio DSP CONTROL - Always and Everywhere in Control
Full control over the entire sound setup, even during soundcheck and show? This is already known from large touring systems or the LINEAR 7 and LINEAR 9 series.
HK Audio DSP CONTROL enables remote control of all LINEAR 5 MK II components, from stage monitors to the complete PA, via network and the proprietary HK Audio DSP CONTROL software for Mac and PC. The functions of the powerful DSPs, such as volume, EQing, limiting, delay, and polarity, are thus accessible directly from FOH at any time.
DSP CONTROL also offers the possibility to access functions like equalizer, limiter, volume, and mute bundled via sub and main groups. This greatly simplifies managing large speaker setups or multiple event spaces.
Through virtual units, it is possible to create a setup in advance without connected speakers. On-site, the virtual units can then be conveniently replaced by the network-capable speakers of the LINEAR 5 MK II series with a mouse click.

Cardioid - Problem Solver for Professionals in Any Situation
Sharp sound protection requirements, uncontrolled bass spread on and behind the stage, and high feedback risk in the low-frequency range are addressed by professional sound engineers with cardioid technology for the subwoofers. This technical trick is now simple and possible without measurement technology: Set up - select preset - done!
The bass sound pressure of the physically spherical-radiating subwoofers is reduced by up to 34 dB behind the subs through the cardioid setup. The forward radiation experiences a slight increase in sound pressure of about 2 dB. This results in a directional, heart-shaped dispersion.
The cardioid sound reinforcement technique can be used with vertically stacked subwoofers as well as horizontal setups. A huge advantage for low stages. The 1:1 vertical and 1:1 horizontal cardioid presets are unique features so far.
Robust Enclosures - Optimized for All Use Scenarios
The acoustic properties and stability of wood cannot be matched by any other material in speaker construction. Therefore, all LINEAR 5 MK II components are housed in wooden enclosures made of MDF and birch multiplex. The LINEAR 5 MK II 118 Sub A is made entirely of birch multiplex. Despite the robust material, LINEAR 5 MK II is extremely compact and comparatively lightweight. MultiGrip handles ensure easy handling and provide secure grip in flight operation on the mid/high units, together with the optional tilt brackets.
For use as compact, powerful, and feedback-resistant stage monitors, the enclosures of the LINEAR 5 XA mid/high units feature a 31° monitor angle and offer a secure and stable stand even when lying sideways. The rotatable horns allow optimal adjustment of the dispersion angles to the desired setup. The enclosures of the LINEAR 5 FA fullrange mid/high units provide more punch and volume in the bass range.

Smaller, Lighter, Louder
LINEAR 5 MK II is smaller, lighter, and louder than the LINEAR 5 series. With up to 3 kg less weight at the same sound pressure, the LINEAR 5 MK II 112 XA is the loudest and lightest mid/high unit in its speaker class. The new LINEAR 5 MK II 115 XA offers enormous volume and noticeable physical vibration, making it the most powerful and loudest mid/high unit in the series.
New Models
Flexible and broadly positioned – that’s what you expect from a good rental company, and that’s exactly what LINEAR 5 MK II offers. Mid/high units in all sensible sizes and proprietary subwoofers cover all conceivable application scenarios in this speaker class optimally and reliably.
The popular LINEAR 5 series has been completely revised, fundamentally adapted to the current requirements of modern sound reinforcement systems, and expanded with the following models:
- LINEAR 5 MK II 110 XA - ultra-compact and powerful multifunction mid/high unit
- LINEAR 5 MK II 115 XA - volume, punch, and high sound pressure as monitor or mid/high unit
- LINEAR 5 MK II 115 SUB A - compact and punchy "easy handling" subwoofer
- LINEAR 5 MK II 118 SUB A - uncompromising power and punch down to the deepest bass cellar

Question by Manfred Häusl on 25.08.2024
Hello
A stupid question, how many people can be covered with this PA????
400-450???
It's a pity that HK Audio still uses the IEC sockets for the power supply.
Powercon for looping through would be much more professional and better.
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The manufacturer specifies the PA for sound reinforcement of between 350 and 500 people, depending on the type of event.
