The SUB 8003-AS MK3 is an active subwoofer with extended bass reproduction and integrated DSP. It features a compact enclosure, an advanced 18-inch transducer with ceramic magnets, and a 4-inch voice coil. The built-in amplifier module delivers up to 2200 watts of power for sound pressure levels up to 135 dB. The patented Bass Motion Control technology ensures extremely linear frequency response and outstanding sound fidelity.

On the rear panel, controls are available for presets, crossover frequency, polarity switch, cardioid radiation, and output delay. The rugged, tour-ready wooden enclosure with scratch-resistant polyurea coating is lightweight and stackable for easy and fast setup and teardown. RCF’s lightweight subwoofers stand out with impressive performance. For the RCF Precision Transducers, our engineering team developed specific new magnet sizes and molds to optimize magnetic flux while keeping weight low. The magnetic circuit topology with an 18-inch driver and 4-inch voice coil delivers top performance in three key areas: it achieves high integrity and uniformity of the magnetic flux in the air gap, extremely low distortion, and efficient integration of the magnetic circuit at minimal weight. The optimized T-pole design minimizes modulation of the magnetic flux in the air gap at typical voice coil excursions.

Power That Moves

The most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF transducers are continuously optimized – and so are the amplifiers. With 2200 W output, our Class-D amplifier achieves impressive sound pressure levels with ultra-fast attack and natural transient response at very low heat dissipation. The amplifier is so energy-efficient that it requires no cooling fan. Instead, it is mounted on a fixed heat exchanger without moving parts at the rear of the enclosure. The stereo signal input path with crossover is optimized for low distortion and includes a modern limiter for added safety, preserving the tonal characteristics of the input signal at all levels. RCF amplifiers meet maximum safety standards (EN62368-1) and are powered by a highly efficient and ultra-lightweight switching power supply.

RCF enclosures are made from high-quality hardwood plywood with a black polyurea coating. The subwoofers are stackable and lightweight, and thanks to ergonomically shaped handles, they are easy to set up and tear down. Pole flanges on the top and one side allow the box to be used in various configurations. The powder-coated front grille is lined on the inside with acoustic foam, which additionally protects the speakers from dust.
