Speaker Configuration

The compact and very lightweight B-HYPE 15 at 17.4 kg features a 15" low-mid woofer and a 1" compression tweeter and can be used as a tweeter unit combined with a subwoofer or, thanks to the 15" woofer, as a full-range speaker for speech and music as well as a floor monitor.

Bi-Amp Digital Amplifier

The entire B-HYPE series is equipped with a modern, digital 2-channel amplifier that actively separates one channel each for the woofer and tweeter and delivers a peak power of 400 watts in the B-Hype 15.

Internal DSP

The internal DSP offers a high resolution of 56-bit and 48 kHz and provides, besides the active crossover including delay adjustment, phase and frequency correction, two sound presets: "Flat" for neutral playback and "Boost" for enhanced bass reproduction.

Limiter for Maximum Operational Safety

Like all dBTechnologies active speakers, the B-HYPE series features an input-side limiter for maximum operational safety and high audio quality, even at the power limit. Both long-term and short-term overloads are detected and limited. In case of overheating, the thermal limiter would intervene to prevent damage to the components.

Asymmetric Horn Tweeter

Unique in its class are the asymmetric horn tweeters of the B-HYPE series, which ensure optimized dispersion behavior in near and far fields. Thanks to software-supported development and simulation, these horn tweeters provide wide dispersion in the near field (120°) and reduced level loss at distance (85°) due to the horn narrowing, resulting in optimal sound distribution over the coverage area. The 25° upward restricted dispersion angle reduces ceiling reflections.

High-Quality Multifunction Housing

The B-Hype series is made from high-quality, extremely robust, and UV-resistant polypropylene plastic. For a sleek and professional look, the housing is equipped with a metal front grille. For easy handling, the B-Hype housing features three handles: one on top and two on the sides. The 35mm stand flange allows use on a speaker stand or pole. The 45° angled back also allows use as a floor monitor.

Connections and Settings

The entire B-Hype series features a combo input jack that accepts both 6.3mm jack and XLR cables. A balanced XLR output is available for daisy-chaining the signal to other devices. Input sensitivity is switchable between "Line" for connecting mixers or other electronic devices, and "Mic" with increased sensitivity for direct microphone connection. The "Volume" control adjusts input sensitivity and playback volume. Power is supplied via a 3-pin VDE socket.
