Speaker Configuration
The compact and very lightweight 17.4 kg B-HYPE 15 is equipped with a 15" low-mid driver and a 1" compression high-frequency driver, and can be used as a high-frequency unit in combination with a subwoofer or, thanks to the 15" woofer, as a full-range speaker for speech and music and as a floor monitor.
Bi-Amp Digital Power Amplifier
The entire B-HYPE series is equipped with a modern, digital two-channel amplifier that provides actively separated channels for the woofer and the tweeter, and the B-HYPE 15 offers a peak power of 400 watts.
Internal DSP
The internal DSP features high resolution 56-bit at 48 kHz and offers, in addition to the active crossover including delay alignment, phase and frequency correction, two sound presets: "Flat" for neutral reproduction and "Boost" for enhanced bass reproduction.
Limiter For Maximum Operational Safety
Like all dBTechnologies active speakers, the B-HYPE series also features an input-side limiter for maximum operational safety and high audio quality, even at the limits of performance. Both long-term and short-term overloads are detected and limited. In the event of overheating the thermal limiter will intervene to prevent damage to the components.
Asymmetrical High-Frequency Horn
Unique in its class are the asymmetrical high-frequency horns of the B-HYPE series, which ensure optimized dispersion in the near and far fields. Thanks to software-supported development and simulation, these horns provide wide near-field coverage (120°) and, through the horn's narrowing, reduced level loss over distance (85°), resulting in optimal sound distribution across the area to be covered. The 25° upward-angled dispersion reduces ceiling reflections.
High-Quality Multifunction Enclosure
The B-Hype series is manufactured from high-quality, extremely robust, UV-resistant polypropylene. For a clean and professional look the enclosure is fitted with a metal front grille. For easy handling the B-Hype enclosure is equipped with a total of three handles: one on top and two on the sides. The 35 mm pole mount allows use on a speaker stand or extension pole. The slanted rear with a 45° angle also allows use as a floor monitor.
Connections And Controls
The entire B-Hype series is fitted with a combo input socket that accepts both a 6.3 mm jack and an XLR cable. For passing the signal on to other devices there is a balanced XLR output. Input sensitivity is switchable between "Line" for connecting mixing consoles or other electronic devices, and "Mic" with increased sensitivity for direct connection of a microphone. The "Volume" control adjusts input sensitivity and playback level. Power is supplied via a 3-pin VDE mains inlet.
