Assembler is a synth-focused audio mixer carefully designed to deliver unmatched vintage mixer sound and intuitive, hands-on control. Developed in collaboration with the renowned Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers team, Assembler builds on the rich history and sonic warmth of classic analog audio mixers while offering a modern workflow tailored specifically for contemporary electronic artists.

Inspired by the sound of legendary analog mixers that shaped music production over decades, Assembler captures the essence of vintage consoles known for their warmth, character, and dynamics through tone shaping and emulation of analog tape saturation.

The circuits developed by Pittsburgh Modular for Assembler use signal contouring and gentle compression to unify the overall mix. This process emulates the signal chain cherished in vintage recordings, adding warmth, cohesion, and character often missing in other mixers. The result is a better-sounding mixer for modern electronic music.

A Wide Range of Options

Assembler’s ten audio inputs are divided into three different mixer channel types to seamlessly fit various audio scenarios and workflows, yet all ten channels share multiple features. Each input has a powerful preamp with up to 20x gain, ideal for boosting line-level signals, subtly enhancing clarity, or aggressively saturating signals. Three assignable aux sends expand each channel with flexible audio processing options.

Three-segment LED indicators, independent headphone cue, and channel mute enable precise and comprehensive monitoring. Channels 1 and 2 offer extensive tone control with vintage EQ knobs allowing ±15 dB boost or cut, while all six mono inputs feature individual pan controls. Two sets of stereo inputs take advantage of powerful preamps and assignable aux sends to work with both Eurorack and line-level signals, enabling seamless integration of a variety of electronic instruments.
