Excellent Microphone for Vocals and Unamplified Instruments!

The XCM-50 captures even the finest nuances with its gold-sputtered 1/2" condenser capsule. It is ideal for vocals, speech, acoustic guitar, piano, wind instruments, and percussion. The microphone features an internal pop filter that effectively prevents noise during close-up speaking. Included is the Rode Tripod 2, a versatile miniature ball-head stand.

The microphone houses a DSP chip that, when used with Rode’s free recording/streaming software UNIFY, allows signal processing with a high-pass filter, equalizer, noise gate, compressor, as well as the legendary Aphex Exciter and Big Bottom. Additionally, when using UNIFY, up to four XCM-50 microphones can be operated simultaneously on a computer if needed.

The XCM-50 features Rode’s ultra-low-noise, powerful Revolution preamp (+76 dB), perfect also for insensitive dynamic microphones. The XCM-50 is a typical cardioid microphone, meaning sound from the sides and rear is significantly attenuated, with a forward pickup angle of about 90°.

The microphone can be precisely swiveled in its yoke mount to perfectly align with the sound source. On the back are the 3.5 mm TRS headphone jack and the USB-C port. The XCM-50 has a truly powerful headphone amplifier—users can crank it up; volume is adjusted via the front rotary control.

The full feature set is unlocked when using the free recording/streaming software UNIFY. It offers a virtual 10-channel mixer with faders, solo and mute buttons on each channel. Available are high-pass filter, compressor, noise gate, Aphex signal processing, eight freely assignable trigger pads with eight banks each, and native multitrack recording.

Editing and exporting, high-resolution WAV recordings, export optionally as MP3 files at 128, 192, 256, or 320 kbps, and direct access to system settings from within UNIFY are also possible.

The package includes the Rode Tripod 2 table stand, a 3 m USB-C to USB-C cable, and a high-quality 3.5 mm TRS headphone extension cable (3 m).

Comfortable Stereo Headphones

The KH-238 delivers a full, balanced sound with rich bass and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume yet clean and precise stereo imaging. The softly padded, wide headband is length-adjustable with 12 steps per side for optimal fit. For extra comfort, the ear cups rotate on two axes. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups also provides good external noise isolation. The integrated volume control on the cable is always within reach, simplifying use with a PC or mp3 player. The 3.5 mm stereo jack plug ensures excellent transmission quality, and a 6.3 mm stereo adapter is also included.
