AKG D5 Vocal Microphone - Keep the Focus on the Sound!

The AKG D5 is a dynamic vocal microphone for singers and presenters. Its supercardioid polar pattern makes it resistant to feedback. Even on loud stages you hear only what you want to hear. A slight boost in the mid and high frequencies delivers a clear, punchy vocal reproduction.

Unique is AKG's patented Varimotion diaphragm. It provides a balanced tone and excellent speech intelligibility. Unlike conventional microphones, the diaphragm varies in thickness: the thicker center allows the microphone to tolerate very high sound pressure levels, while the thin rim produces tight, punchy bass. Vocals and speech therefore cut through dense mixes. Handling and cable noise are effectively prevented by the elastic capsule mount.

To avoid disturbing pop and breath noises, the AKG D5's grille has an integrated windscreen. The microphone's housing is metal with a scratch-resistant finish, making it highly durable and robust. A mic clip and a microphone stand are included in the scope of delivery. The microphone is also available as the D5 S with a smooth, click-free on/off switch.

Microphone Stand

Thanks to the locking clamp with a metal insert in the base, the MS-116 offers a secure stance. There is also a locking clamp on the boom extension so the boom locks reliably with minimal force while protecting the tube. At the joint a double rubber-disc clamp with a metal insert is mounted, allowing the joint to be adjusted with little effort while still providing high clamping force and minimal wear.

XLR Cable

Only oxygen-free copper is used for the Stage Pro-Line cables. This ensures long-lasting, consistent quality and protects against corrosion. The connectors are hand-soldered and fitted with a strain-relief clamping sleeve so the solder joints are free from mechanical stress. A high-density copper shield effectively protects the audio signal from handling noise and electromagnetic interference produced by power supplies and mains cables. This ensures low conductor capacitance and crystal-clear audio transmission.
