AKG K-712 Pro Headphones - Master the Sound!
\r\nThe AKG K712 PRO is an open, dynamic headphone designed for use in recording studios as well as broadcast and television facilities. The headphones with selected drivers impress with flawless workmanship. They deliver a uniquely transparent sound, with outstanding spatial imaging and depth staging. This is supported by detailed high-frequency resolution combined with optimized bass reproduction thanks to the breathable velour ear pads with 3D Form technology.
\r\nThe diaphragm, produced in two layers according to the patented Varimotion system, is driven by neodymium magnets, achieving an especially linear frequency response with low distortion. The coil is wound from flat wire and provides perfect transient response and crystal-clear high-frequency reproduction.
\r\nThe excellent all-day comfort is based on AKG's well-known self-adjusting headband mechanism with genuine leather head strap, as well as the one-sided cable routing with detachable mini-XLR cable. This enables fatigue-free working—also thanks to the headphone's low weight.
\r\nPerfect Craftsmanship & Outstanding Comfort!

What I like:
- very light
- pleasant to wear, after a short time you "forget" it
- sounds open, transparent and neutral, no bass emphasis
- can also be used as hi-fi headphones
- interchangeable connection cables
What you should know:
- sits rather loosely, not suitable for violent movements
- conditionally suitable for portable devices

Now it’s finally worked out, and I was able to get my hands on a Klipsch Heritage Headphone Amplifier :)
What can I say… The combination is incredibly harmonious. The sound is phenomenal, the soundstage is incredible, and the level of detail is outstanding—even the subtlest nuances are audible. However, this precision also takes its toll, so it’s very noticeable when low bitrates (below 320 kbit/s) are played. You can even hear the difference between 320 kbit/s and FLAC.
It sounds best when connected directly to a high-quality turntable—I use the Pro-Ject The Classic Evo.
The level of detail achieved far exceeds that of my floor-standing speakers, making this the better choice for me when it comes to rediscovering my musical treasures in newfound splendor.
Conclusion:
The AKG K712 Pro is a technical and musical masterpiece and can therefore be wholeheartedly recommended. However, you should also consider purchasing a high-quality headphone amplifier to unlock its full potential.
