The AKG K240 Studio is a semi-open studio headphone for mixing and recording. It delivers a neutral, uncolored reproduction to reliably judge music. The semi-open design combines the advantages of open and closed constructions. External noise is reduced, as is crosstalk from the headphones. At the same time heat dissipation is better than with a closed model and the sense of space sounds more natural. Bass response is clear and uncolored. Even at high levels the headphone performs without distortion.
The special diaphragms are thicker in the center than at the thin edge (AKG's patented Varimotion technology). Compared to conventional diaphragms this improves the vibration characteristics and produces a noticeably more accurate transient response. The resulting stereo image enables precise localization.
The circumaural ear pads provide comfortable wear. The headband automatically adjusts to the size of the head. The cable connects via a mini-XLR connector and is easy to replace.
