Powerful Keyboard in Electric Piano Look!
The DP-88 II is designed especially for beginners looking for the features of a modern keyboard but want the appearance of a full-sized electric piano. With its 88 piano-look keys, 360 sounds, accompaniment with 160 backing rhythms, 80 demo songs, learning function, built-in MP3 player, and powerful stereo speakers, it sets new standards in its price range and delights musicians from young to old.
Large Display and Intuitive Operation
Thanks to the high-contrast, easy-to-read, blue backlit display and clear button layout, it offers absolute ease of use with maximum functionality. The display is (and this is great not only for younger beginners!) also helpful in the learning function, as it clearly shows the currently played notes and demo songs can be easily memorized through the visually well-designed display.
Extensive Recording Function and Metronome
Own music pieces can be recorded at the push of a button thanks to the record function and played back at a later time. The recording capacity generously covers 180 bars. The built-in metronome helps to always keep the right tempo.
Dual and Split
With the "Dual" and "Split" functions, multiple sounds can be assigned or played simultaneously on the keyboard. For example, with "Dual" you can easily combine string and piano sounds. The "Split" function divides the keyboard into two zones, which can be assigned different sounds independently. This leaves no limits to your creativity!
Learning Mode and Demo Songs
In song mode, you can select a desired piece from a wide range of songs to improve your musical skills. With the lesson button, (depending on the song) the left and right hand can be trained in three different difficulty levels. The notes to be played are displayed directly on the screen. 80 demo songs from the Turkish March to Oh Susanna and Mozart inspire the learning process.
Extensive Accompaniment
The built-in accompaniment is especially designed for beginners who want to be accompanied by a band through 160 styles from rock and bossa nova to the schlager genre. Boring scale practice is a thing of the past, and especially children quickly experience success through this playful approach.
Built-in MP3 Player
When a USB storage device is connected to the designated port, MP3 files can be played directly through the piano’s speakers. This allows playing along with your favorite songs right away.
Powerful Stereo Speakers, Headphone and Line Output
Stereo speakers installed underneath with 15 W each provide assertive sound. The headphone output on the front allows silent practice. For playing in front of a larger audience, a 6.3 mm jack output is available to connect the piano to stereo or PA systems.
Practical Keyboard Cover
The practical keyboard cover with music stand reliably protects the digital piano from dust and dirt; even closed, the electric piano makes a great impression as a representative instrument in the living room.
Quick Setup Thanks to Illustrated Manual
Thanks to the extensively illustrated manual, the DP-88 II electric piano can be assembled by beginners in about 15 minutes. Simply attach the stand feet to the already pre-assembled playing table.

They are still available today, but for home use it seemed excessive to us to invest from 1,000€ upwards.
The FunKey DP-88 II caught our eye, unexpectedly cheap and apparently the "house brand" of Kirstein, because the Far East box of the delivery is already labeled Kirstein.
The assembly succeeded us uncomplicated, about 15-20min are sufficient here completely.
A good manual is included, but if you look at the components, every halfway talented do-it-yourselfer will be able to assemble the piano intuitively.
One small detail is negative here, it is the cable of the pedals, for this there is no integrated cable channel, so it hangs loosely down behind the device. It is well adjusted in length and thus does not form an unnecessary cable loop, but it would be nicer if integrated. Unfortunately, it is too short to lead it up the side and stick it on, so we first attached it to the back of the piano with some tape.
The plug-in power supply looks very simple and we would find it better if the power supply was integrated into the piano and only a thin power cable was connected, because the device does not need much power, hence the small power supply.
Very pleasant is that the USB socket on the back of the piano, if you do not need it otherwise, can be ideally used for a lamp. We placed a USB lamp on the piano and can thus do without an additional power supply or power cable.
Very practical and solid is the keyboard cover, a really sturdy lid that closes well, so there is no need for a cloth etc. to protect the keyboard from dust during breaks in playing. There is a folding bar in the lid, on which you can easily put down notes, our brand ePiano did not have something like that before, despite the high price.
We are really amazed what to get today for around 400€, a really well thought out instrument and appealing quality and sound variety.
The keyboard is good, although a touch worse than our previous, especially in the inherent noise, the keys could be a touch better damped, which is then just a bit audible at low volumes. The stroke is clearly recognizable and responds dynamically to the finger activation, which is how it has to be for an ePiano, we wouldn't accept anything else. Outstandingly good for this price range.
Then there are a lot of control keys and the large central display. While the display is illuminated, the function keys are unfortunately not and that becomes a problem in dim corners, which is why we use the LED light on the piano.
Some keys are intuitive, others not, but Kirstein provides a very good manual, which we have now almost completely opened. We don't need many functions, but those we like to use, we naturally want to operate unerringly. The numeric input is unfortunately twisted sideways, one is rather used to a laptop numeric keypad, with the zero at the bottom. Well, you get used to it.
We like the display, its illumination is not obtrusive and the LCD is high-contrast and easy to read, even the notes are displayed, we of course also the selected functions.
If you don't play the piano over headphones, which we hardly ever do, you'll notice the powerful integrated speakers, so you can even fill a larger room with sound before the need for a sound system arises.
The resistance of the pedals could be minimally lower, they are a bit tight, but they work well and their function is also well described in the manual.
The wood quality of the base is quite simple, but functional. It's cheap-looking foiled chipboard, but you don't see the saw edges when it's assembled. In addition, Kirstein has relied on solid feet, which clearly lift the impression of the base and make the piano very stable, it does not tilt even with hectic hard stops, stands on flat floors absolutely tilt-free.
In conclusion, we consider the ePiano to be very to highly recommendable, if your own demands aren't too high. In direct comparison to branded devices in this functional class, it is truly a bargain. The longevity will be seen, but honestly, is it worth repairing a more expensive device after the warranty expires? It depends on the individual case, in our case it was no longer worth it, the repair of the central electronics was close to the new price.
If the brand name is not important to you and you can get by with a medium quality and function, you won't go wrong with this ePiano.

Despite the price for entry-level models in the first moment felt quite high and my resistance in the first moment, I am in retrospect glad not to have bought a discounter device, which was also on sale at the same time.
The digital piano sounds really good and not as tinny as other "entry-level" models. It seems very high-quality, which starts with the first keystroke. It's hard to describe, pleasant resistance, no numb clacking, no unnecessary play to the left and right (wobbly keys), etc.
Our children now use the device daily and with enthusiasm, so I very likely do not have to use the option "resale at a small loss" that resonates in the back of my mind, which you do not have so with "cheap homes".
Of course, I can't judge the "innards".
The service can also be properly assessed only in the warranty case, which hopefully does not occur. However, the contact in advance was very friendly and unobtrusive.
Clear purchase recommendation!

Questions about product
Question by Daniel Balci on 05.06.2024
Dear Sir or Madam,
My question is, does the electric piano come in a box and you still have to assemble it?
I am asking because we live on the second floor and our staircase is narrow.
That's why I'm wondering how it will arrive.
Yours sincerely
Daniela Balci
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The piano comes in a larger shipping box and still needs to be assembled.
Assembly instructions are included and it is not rocket science to assemble it.
The piano weighs approx. 30 kg and should therefore be carried by at least 2 people.
Question by Linda on 24.07.2021
Hello I would like to know if it is possible to connect a device like a tablet etc.
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
For example, a tablet, smartphone, etc. can be connected to this piano.
Question by Vincenzo on 20.07.2021
How is the keyboard section attached to the cabinet? Is it removable and then easily reassembled?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The upper part of the keyboard is attached to the substructure with a few screws. The parts can be disassembled with relative ease.
Question by Giuseppe Giorgio on 06.07.2021
I would like to know if it also carries the pipe organ timbre, thank you
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The keyboard also has several d'organ tones.
Question by Xavier Gimó Ribes on 13.05.2021
Can it be connected to a stereo system to be able to listen through the speakers of the equipment?
What kind of cable would I need?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
Yes, the keyboard has an output connector on the back. There you need a jack cable (6.3 mm).
Question by Marco on 15.02.2021
With headphones, I hear the audio very low, and I can't figure out how to manage the volume with the headphones on
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
You can adjust the volume using the volume control on the piano even when using headphones. You can also check that the headphone plug is inserted correctly and fully. If it is still too quiet, it could be that your headphones have too much resistance and that is why you are not reaching the desired volume.
Question by fanny dupouy on 12.12.2020
Hello, I would like to know which jack can be connected to the keyboard.

Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The Funkey DP-88 II has the following connections: a power connector, USB to device, 1/4" output, pedal, MIDI in/out, USB to host.

Question by Dr.ssa Salvi on 10.12.2019
hi i am from Italy, beginner digital seeker with classical piano sound and classical piano weight keys, i'm interested funkey DP 88,
I would like to know sound quality and keys
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The DP-88 has a very nice sound in this price range, but does not have weighted keys. If you value a weighted keyboard and a beautiful sound, I would recommend the following model: https://www.kirstein.de/en/Stagepianos/Steinmayer-P-60-SM-stage-piano-black.html
Question by Louise Simon-Baumann on 13.10.2019
Is the keystroke like a piano or more like a keyboard
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The keys do have velocity, but they are not weighted. This makes them more like a keyboard.
Question by Revere on 13.09.2019
Are the keys on this model weighted?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
Although the keys have tactile dynamics, they are not weighted.
