The HK Audio PORTABLE SUB 118 A is an active 18" subwoofer for DJs, bands, live acts, events, rental companies and professional PA systems that demand serious bass. With an 18" woofer, a 3" voice coil, 700 watts RMS amplifier power, 1,400 watts peak and a maximum 131 dB peak SPL, it delivers deep, voluminous and controlled bass for club-style applications. The integrated 24-bit DSP enables fast, precise system tuning via presets for LUNAR, SONAR, POLAR and a General LPF at 100 Hz. The PORTABLE SUB 118 A is engineered for extended sub-bass and high headroom in the low-frequency range. The 18" woofer provides a solid foundation for electronic music, live bands, dancefloors, club events, appropriately sized outdoor applications and powerful stereo systems. The frequency response extends to 35 Hz at -6 dB and to 31 Hz at -10 dB. The result is bass reproduction that is not only audible but physically felt.

System-Ready for LUNAR, SONAR and POLAR

The PORTABLE SUB series was developed for maximum compatibility with HK Audio LUNAR, SONAR and POLAR systems. The presets LUNAR, SONAR, POLAR and General LPF 100 Hz can be selected directly to adapt the subwoofer to the respective system environment. The 24-bit DSP controls filters, limiters and tonal tuning with high transient fidelity. The result is powerful, precise and controlled bass without complicated configuration.

Stereo Preamp for Flexible Setups

Thanks to the integrated stereo preamp, the PORTABLE SUB 118 A is ideal for 2.1 systems and classic stereo configurations. Two balanced XLR/TRS combo inputs accept the signal, and two balanced XLR-thru outputs pass it on to tops. Gain controls and a polarity switch allow quick adaptation to room, placement and speaker system. The setup stays straightforward even when only one subwoofer is used in a stereo setup.

Rugged Construction for Stage and Rental

The low-resonance MDF cabinet with an acrylic lacquer finish, the bass-reflex design and the open port support dry, clean and powerful bass reproduction. The fanless Class-D amplifier runs quietly and efficiently. Two MultiGrip handles provide secure grip points during transport. Distance Pole

With the Pronomic distance poles you can mount tops directly on the subwoofer — at the right height. Almost all subwoofers already feature a compatible socket. The distance poles screw in using an M20 thread. An indexing pin prevents accidental slipping and is additionally secured with a locking screw.
