Everything You Need to Get Started Playing Guitar!
This great starter set is ideal for beginners! Whether in music class, at band rehearsal, live on stage or around the campfire: the AS-861 brings joy everywhere. Only carefully selected materials are used for AS-861 guitars. The laminated top and the body produce a beautiful, warm tone, and the neatly crafted bridge transfers the string vibrations even with the lightest fingertip attack down to the smallest detail. The smooth-tuning machine heads also provide optimal tuning stability.
Classic Look
The AS-861 stands out visually with its light natural top and dark-tinted body. The elaborately crafted rosette, the attractive decorative machine heads and the understated headstock complete the overall look.
Which Guitar Size Is Right?
Scale length indicates the size of a guitar — more precisely, the length of the vibrating string between the nut and the bridge. The standard scale length is 650 mm and corresponds to a 4/4 guitar. All other sizes are smaller and are therefore recommended for children and adolescents.
Our Recommendations for the Appropriate Scale Length by Age and Height:
| 1/4 Size | Age 4 to 7 years | Height up to 110 cm | Scale approx. 47-49 cm |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2 Size | Age 5 to 9 years | Height 110 to 130 cm | Scale approx. 53-55 cm |
| 3/4 Size | Age 8 to 11 years | Height 120 to 140 cm | Scale approx. 59-62 cm |
| 7/8 Size | Age 10 to 13 years | Height 130 to 150 cm | Scale approx. 62-63 cm |
| 4/4 Size | Age from approx. 14 years | Height from approx. 150 cm | Scale approx. 63-65 cm |

Questions about product
Question by Zoé Blum on 15.02.2021
Is there also a music booklet included here? It doesn't say so, that's why I'm asking. And what is meant by guitar school?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
A music book, in which you can write notes yourself, is not included in the set. The guitar school is a booklet with exercises and instructions on notes, chords, etc.
Question by Sieglinde Küster on 03.12.2020
What is the difference between the AS 861 and the AS 851 ?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The models are relatively similar, except for the wood used: while the AS-861 uses spruce, the AS-851 uses basswood.
Question by Jácome Fernández on 03.02.2018
I need to know if it is left-handed ready and if it can be used by an adult.
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The guitar is for adults but not for left-handed players. - That is the correct model which is also for adults: https://www.kirstein.de/Gitarrensets-fuer-Erwachsene/Classic-Cantabile-AS-851-L-Konzertgitarre-4-4-Starter-Set-fuer-Linkshaender.html
