Ordered on Wednesday, delivered today, what more could you want. The instrument looks nice, but is really tiny compared to my other string instruments. But I guess that's the way it has to be. The tuning machines make a solid impression and the frets are unusually small, but it still sounds good. The neck of the ukulele is pleasant to grip, even with my hands that tend to size XXL with sausage finger handicap.
The bag (new German "gig bag") is simply worked and not padded, but quite appropriate for an instrument in this price range.
The tuner is ready to use after inserting the battery, just clamp it to the headstock and you can start tuning the ukulele. If the tuning is right, the color of the back of the tuner changes from red to green, otherwise you have more or less many "<<<" or ">>>" that show you if you are too high or too low. So tuning is done in 2 minutes, you also don't have to adjust any intonation or even screw with the string height.
The included instruction booklet is probably an own production of the music house Kirstein. It is clearly structured and explains everything you need to know to start playing the ukulele. It also explains how to tune the strings (which is no problem thanks to the tuner). A little bit of note reading and the division into bars and then it starts with simple chords that can be played with one or two fingers.
