EL84 Power Stage
EL84 tubes are the tonal heart of the HT-20R MK III combos and heads. Blackstar has leveraged decades of experience in tube amp design to blend the response and character of this classic British tube with a carefully tuned preamp, creating wonderfully rich tube tones. From pure boutique cleans through mild overdrives that clean up by rolling back the guitar’s volume knob, to saturated distortion—this amp does it all.
Focused to Stage-Ready
The HT-20R MK III features a power reduction function that drops output to 2 watts without tonal compromise—perfect for pushing the EL84s hard in the studio or at home at manageable volumes.
When you’re ready to hit the stage, switch to full 20 watts and use the XLR DI output to send an incredibly realistic cabinet simulation directly to the sound engineer via the CabRig IR-based speaker simulation software.
Perfect for Playing and Recording
The HT-20R MK III not only delivers recording-ready tube tones at any volume but also includes a direct USB-C output that can send 2 channels (left and right) to your DAW, offering the easiest way to record authentic tube tones without an interface.
The best part? These amps have built-in load protection, meaning you can use them without a connected speaker cabinet for silent practice and recording.
