The amplifiers, rated at 2 x 33 watts and driving 4 speakers in a bass-reflex enclosure, deliver a nuanced, full-bodied listening experience. On the optimized control panel, ergonomically and intuitively arranged knobs support a naturally flowing performance. The newly developed graphical interface of the large, bright TouchView display remains easy to read even in low light. The entire screen can be tilted forward or backward to set the optimal viewing angle! With the versatile Search function, recently used songs, styles or files and much more can be found quickly! Styles, keyboard sets and SongBook entries can be read directly from USB media — without loading data into internal memory.

Top Sound Quality

The Pa1000 runs on KORG's complex EDS-X (Enhanced Definition Synthesis-eXpanded) sound engine and ships with more than 1,750 ready-to-play, highly realistic sounds. This collection offers a huge selection of classic and modern keyboards, band and orchestral instruments as well as electronic and acoustic instruments — from techno to folk. Newly added are two multilayer stereo grand pianos (with damper and body resonances) and electric pianos from the popular KORG SV-1 Stage Piano. The digital drawbar organ features key on/off noises, leakage effects and a rotary speaker emulation. Additionally, the Pa1000 offers new wind instruments, strings, basses and even acoustic and electric guitars. All sounds were painstakingly recorded with state-of-the-art techniques so even the finest details were preserved.

With three assignable buttons and a 4-way joystick, KORG's unique DNC (Defined Nuance Control) reproduces the subtle nuances and articulations of acoustic instruments and enables ultra-realistic, expressive performances — all in real time and on demand. Bring solos or melodies to life with the growl effect of a passionately played saxophone, the different tonguing techniques of a trumpet, the breath noises of a clarinet or harmonica, and the fine characteristics that add even more authenticity to pizzicato and arco sounds of a string section.

Always Well Styled

Each of the more than 430 styles in the Pa1000 creates its own musical context and reproduces a specific music style. The selection is huge and gives direct access to a wide range of genres. Each style offers 4 Fill Ins + break patterns — one per variation. With the new Auto Fill function you can call these automatically while moving between the four variations. KORG's international sound team has created a variety of new styles and improved many popular and well-known styles with new sounds and mixes. The Pa1000 provides a total of 1,152 storage slots for new styles and settings. Guitar Mode 2 has been upgraded with new complex parameters and gives the guitar tracks in all styles unprecedented authenticity. With the four pads, each style can be further embellished. Each pad can add unique or repeating riffs, percussion parts, accent sounds or even sound effects. With the handy Chord Sequencer function you can spontaneously record and loop your chord sequences in Style Play mode to practice harmonies or free your left hand during live performance. These chord sequences can now also be saved as styles and SongBook entries and recalled instantly.

The Latest Styles - Quickly Created!

Thanks to the completely new integrated 'Standard MIDI File to Style' converter you can quickly and comfortably use styles of the latest songs! Simply get a Standard MIDI File, load it into the Pa1000 and convert it into a complete KORG style with the converter while simultaneously generating a chord sequence from the song.

Studio-Quality Effects

The Pa1000 is equipped with the best studio-worthy effects from the popular KORG library. You can apply 2 insert and 2 master effects to the accompaniment/song tracks and 1 insert and 2 master effects to the real-time tracks. 148 effect types are available, including reverbs, delays, emulations of vintage stompbox effects, amp and cabinet simulations and much more. Additionally, every track can be shaped with low, mid and high EQ knobs and a dedicated track EQ can be stored in Song Play mode — so the song sounds perfect in any environment. With the global effects, the overall sound can be tailored to personal taste or to problematic live environments.

TC Helicon Voice Processor

KORG continues its long-term collaboration with TC Helicon, the world's leading provider of voice processors, in the Pa1000. New functions and algorithms of the TC Helicon voice processor ensure that vocals are output in optimal quality. You can generate up to 3 realistic additional voices and control them via the keyboard or MIDI events. Additionally, 5 effect blocks with EQ, compressor, gate and two effects are available. Two knobs and three buttons, placed within easy reach on the control panel, were added to control the key vocal functions.

Enhance Guitar Sound

Simply plug the guitar into the dedicated input on the rear and process it with the pedal and studio effects of Guitar FX. Choose from some of KORG's best guitar effects such as tube amp sounds, realistic distortion, chorus or delay and high-quality studio reverbs.

Player/Sequencer

The famous KORG XDS Crossfade Dual Sequencer Player supports not only common text formats but also the MP3+G (aka MP3+Graphics) format for MP3 files. Thanks to this feature you can play backing sequences with extended lyrics and graphics and display them simultaneously on the integrated TFT display and an external monitor. There is also a convenient marker function that lets you jump directly to a selected song position. Two different MP3 or MIDI files can be played simultaneously and even transposed, sped up or slowed down. To remove vocal parts from MP3 files a vocal remover mutes the center music channel. The 16-track sequencer offers, alongside complex sequencing methods, a backing sequence function for comfortable song creation and editing. Entire performances can also be recorded directly with the Pa1000! Play a song, accompany it on the keyboard, sing along and record everything in MP3 format. Then you can save the recording to external USB media or internal memory.

SongBook

The SongBook is a freely programmable and easy-to-search music database that contains all the settings needed to play a song — the ideal tool for live performances. Whether you want to play with styles, MIDI files or MP3s, the SongBook stores all important song information such as song title, genres, artist, tempo, volumes, sound assignments, muted tracks, effect and easy-edit settings, 4 keyboard tracks, TC Helicon presets, master transpose and much more. The updated Set List function allows assigning control-panel buttons to recall settings instantly during live gigs.

With the SongBook Editor you can view, create and edit SongBook entries and set lists of the KORG Pa series on a PC effortlessly. You can even sync the SongBook to iOS and Android tablets and use them for external display of music notation (third-party software required). The SongBook contains everything essential for a perfect song performance. This useful function is found exclusively in KORG instruments.

Improved Connectivity

MIDI connections are now also possible via the USB HOST port (in addition to the USB DEVICE and MIDI ports). This makes connecting controllers like digital pianos (e.g., HAVIAN 30) or KORG's nano and micro series simple and without special adapters.
