The Rebirth of a Classic With a Gorgeous Faded Finish!
The Les Paul Standard 50s Faded returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved — it has shaped the sound across generations and genres. It's a tribute to Gibson's golden era of innovation and brings that authenticity back to life.
The Les Paul Standard 50s features a satin nitrocellulose finish that delivers the look and feel of a well-loved instrument. It sports a solid mahogany body with no weight relief, as is traditional for Les Paul models, and an AA figured maple top that adds a bit of snap and brightness to the warm mahogany tone — and let's be honest, figured maple simply looks fantastic.
The mahogany neck has a 50s vintage profile that feels comfortably full in the hand without being overly chunky. The satin finish provides a smooth, fast playing feel. The neck is fitted with a rosewood fretboard, equipped with 22 easy-action medium-jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays. The 12" fretboard radius makes chord work in the first position and string bending higher up the neck equally comfortable. The Les Paul Standard 50s Faded comes with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminum Stopbar tailpiece, a Graph Tech nut and Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons — all contributing to its renowned sustain and rock-solid tuning stability.
Both pickups have individual volume and tone controls with gold top-hat knobs and indicator slits, so you always know exactly where your settings are. The Gibson BurstBucker 1 (neck) and BurstBucker 2 (bridge) pickups feature nickel covers and are hand-wired with pots for tone shaping and Orange Drop capacitors. A hardshell case is included to keep the Les Paul Standard 50s Faded safe when it's not being played and while you travel to and from your next show.

The guitar itself is amazing! The vanilla smell alone when you open the case is an experience. And what was beaming at me? A Gibson with an incredible flame top! I got one where the top is even more beautiful than in the photos. If someone had told me it was a AAA top, I would have believed it. The overall finish is absolutely flawless and the matte finish feels great. The string action, neck bend etc. were all perfectly adjusted and the guitar was even tuned.
The sound is always a matter of taste, but it certainly sounds as you would expect from a 50s Gibson. But what's most important to me is the playing feel, which is a real pleasure.
I thought long and hard about whether a guitar is really worth that much money to me, but I have to say that the Gibson is really worth every penny. An absolute recommendation to buy!

Gibson has also done a good job, because the guitar has no defects and was perfectly intonated. This was not always self-evident with Gibson, but has recently become better and better!
So a really good standard that deserves its name and I am sure to be able to play it with pleasure for many years!

2. string action very bad - had to be completely readjusted afterwards by a specialist
( this has to be checked by the guitar department before selling )
3. saddle made of plastic, hmmm - well, yes - is a very poor quality, because
a) the saddle was already damaged (broken) and was glued on by Gibson afterwards.
sorry, that's not possible - therefore I had to have a new saddle (bone) made.
have to make a new saddle
b) ABR Tune -o-matic ,Stoptail should be exchanged ,because ,the stringguide
is not 100 percent and the sound is also not as usual.
e.g. : ( overtones tilt , sustain is too short ) therefore a new Gibson ABRH bridge was
was applied
Cost after buying the guitar ; 200 € --for that the guitar sounds now really very good .
This unnecessary time expenditure to be spent afterwards and the above-mentioned additional cost note is not at all to be expected of the customer and must always be urgently controlled by the QM system of the music store to be adhered to, which unfortunately was not observed in my case.
Since most guitar players are not technicians, this article should give the management of the music store an impulse to be more careful in the future.
So guitarists, when buying this guitar, please check immediately what was criticized, so that you do not incur additional costs and you can use the instrument immediately, namely as it should be in principle.
Best regards, Peter
