The Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1960 is one of the most sought-after vintage guitars in the world. It was played by legends like Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, and Joe Walsh. The 1960 Les Paul Standard closely resembles the famous 1959 model year but features some changes, especially a thinner and faster-playing SlimTaper neck profile that many players prefer over the slightly chunkier neck profile of the 1959 Les Paul Standard. Now, Epiphone proudly presents the Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Standard Reissue, a beautiful replica of these vintage Les Paul Standard 1960 models. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 1960 Reissue was made in collaboration with Gibson Custom and offers the look and performance of the vintage Les Paul models at an affordable price.

All the classic features that made the 1960 Les Paul Standard model famous and beloved are here, including a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon for more stability and sustain, a comfortable, fast-playing SlimTaper profile, and a bound rosewood fretboard. It also features trapezoid mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays, an aged mother-of-pearl logo on the Epiphone headstock, and the words "Les Paul Model" in gold on the Gibson-style headstock that looks like an open book. Even the side dot markers are the same size as on the vintage 1960 Les Paul Standard models and are placed in historically accurate positions.

The solid mahogany body is topped with a carved maple top finished with a beautiful AAA flamed maple veneer. The electronics are equally impressive: two USA Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired to CTS potentiometers, Black-Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, and a Switchcraft pickup selector switch and output jack. The vintage gloss finish gives the guitar a vintage look without appearing overly aged and is nicely complemented by the nickel hardware, including the Epiphone Deluxe "Double Ring" Keystone tuners.
