The Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1960 is one of the most coveted vintage guitars in the world. It has been played by luminaries such as Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Joe Walsh. The 1960 Les Paul Standard closely resembles the famous 1959 model year but features some changes—most notably a thinner, faster-playing SlimTaper neck profile that many players prefer to the slightly beefier 1959 Les Paul Standard neck. Epiphone is proud to present the Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Standard Reissue, a beautiful recreation of these vintage 1960 Les Paul Standard models. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 1960 Reissue was created in collaboration with Gibson Custom and delivers the look and performance of the vintage Les Paul models at an affordable price.

All the classic appointments that made the 1960 Les Paul Standard known and loved are present here, including a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon for increased stability and sustain, a comfortable, fast-playing SlimTaper profile and a bound rosewood fingerboard. It also features trapezoid mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays, an aged mother-of-pearl logo on the Epiphone headstock and the words "Les Paul Model" in gold on the Gibson-style headstock that looks like an open book. Even the side dot markers match the same size as the vintage 1960 Les Paul Standard models and are placed at historically correct positions.

The solid mahogany body is topped with an arched maple top finished with a beautiful AAA flamed maple veneer. The electronics are equally impressive: two USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired to CTS potentiometers, Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, a Switchcraft pickup selector switch and an output jack. The Vintage Gloss finish gives the guitar a vintage look without appearing overly aged and is nicely complemented by nickel hardware, including Epiphone Deluxe "Double Ring" Keystone tuners.

A brown hard-shell case with "Inspired by Gibson Custom" graphics and a pink plush-lined interior is also included. This is the perfect Les Paul for players who love the vintage appeal of the classic 1959 Les Paul Standard but want a more comfortable neck profile.
