Gibson Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Les Paul Standard

The Greeny stands out from the crowd of Les Pauls in that three famous guitarists have played or still play it. Peter Green, Gary Moore and Kirk Hammett. You can see this guitar in many pictures and see and hear it in many videos. The copy resembles the original in appearance and sound. The sound in the middle position of the selector switch is uniquely clean and concise thanks to the neck pickup, which is installed upside down and supposedly connected out of phase. The finish is satin matt, even on the neck, which is very pleasant when playing. Thanks to the spring cleaning campaign at Kirstein, I was able to purchase the Greeny at a very reasonable price. It's currently my favorite Les Paul.

As a fan of Gary Moore and Kirk Hammett, this Les Paul has been on my wish list for a long time. Now I'm holding it in my hands and what can I say: One of, if not the best Les Paul I've ever had the pleasure of playing from Gibson. The workmanship is first class, which is not always the case even in this price segment. Sound: It sounds open and no muffled tones in the rhythm setting. And yes: In the middle position, the Paula actually sounds like a Strat due to the upside-down humbucker on the neck. It pushes, it pushes, it twangs, it simply sounds sensational. I'm currently playing the same strings on the Greeny as Gary Moore (Dean Markley) did back in the day and you get extremely close to his sound. As it sounds open and bright, it is probably also compatible with almost all other string brands. Stainless steel strings probably turn this guitar into a buzz saw. Also a huge thank you to the Kirstein team for the great final inspection, as well as the perfectly fast delivery, as always! I'll be playing this Les Paul until I meet Gary Moore again - extremely great guitar!
