New for 2024, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the 1967 Stratocaster Relic with Closet Classic Hardware. This model honors the legacy of the "Large Headstock" Stratocaster guitars from the late '60s and delivers all the nuances that make this Strat era so special – a two-piece body made of select alder, a quartersawn maple neck with a '60s Oval "C" neck profile in the style of the 60s, and a rounded laminated rosewood fretboard, plus a three-ply parchment pickguard equipped with hand-wound Texas Special pickups from the Custom Shop.
The 1967 Stratocaster is finished with relic-style paint and Closet Classic hardware, looking like a perfectly worn workhorse that’s been gigged for years but carefully maintained.
Additional premium features include a 9.5" fretboard radius, 21 narrow tall frets, vintage-modified #2 wiring with tone-saver treble bleed, 5-way switch, three-ply parchment pickguard, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuners, bone nut, string-through nylon string retainer, deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.
