New for 2024, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the 1959 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic — an undeniable icon among electric guitars. Over the years the '59 Strat earned fame for its unmistakable appointments, and this model is packed with the features that truly summon the spirit of its celebrated predecessor.
The two-piece body of selected alder, the one-piece quarter-sawn maple neck and the three-ply mint green pickguard together form the perfect blend of late-'50s Stratocaster specs. Fitted with three Custom Shop hand-wound Fat 60s pickups (RWRP middle pickup), this guitar delivers all the bite and quack a player expects from a Strat, with an added touch of especially warm, full-bodied tone.
The 1959 Stratocaster wears a Journeyman Relic finish that evokes decades of heavy playing and touring — this guitar is a battle-tested workhorse.
Other premium features include a 9.5" fingerboard radius, 21 narrow-tall frets, a 5-way switch, a Custom Shop vintage tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, a bone nut, a string tree, a deluxe hard case, a strap and a certificate of authenticity.
