First in French, then in English. I was impressed by the playability and sound of this guitar. First of all, it looks fantastic. A raw, urban, and grungy design with an authentic touch. This guitar has an impressive charisma. I was surprised that the setup was perfect right out of the box: an almost straight neck with slight relief and flawless intonation. The build quality is fantastic. I don't understand how they can use solid brass parts (bridge, tuning pegs, etc.) at such an affordable price.
I was also very impressed with the sound. The two P90 pickups (slightly unbalanced) offer a really raw sound, ideal for hard rock or blues (it's probably not a jazz guitar for delicate playing). The variety of sounds you can achieve with just one volume control (and no tone control) by switching between neck, bridge, and both pickups makes playing a real pleasure. As you can see, I am very happy with my purchase and incredibly impressed with the versatility of this instrument. I compare it to my Stratocaster or my GLP, which offer much more tone control options. I highly recommend this guitar. I'm glad I chose the SL60 version with two pickups, but I'm sure the SL59 with a single P90 is just as good.
I'm thrilled with how well this guitar plays and how good it sounds. First of all, it looks fantastic. A raw, cool grunge-style design with an earthy "backstreet" flair. This guitar looks like it means business. I was amazed that the setup was perfect right out of the box, with an almost straight neck with little relief and spot-on intonation. The build quality is fantastic. I don't understand how they can include solid brass parts (bridge, tuning pegs, etc.) at such an affordable price. I was also very impressed with the sound. The dual (slightly unbalanced) P90s provide a really raw sound – ideal for heavy rock or blues (this is probably not a guitar for light jazz). The variety of sounds that can be achieved with a volume control (and no tone control) by switching between the neck, both, and bridge pickups makes playing a real pleasure.
As you can imagine, I am very happy with my purchase and incredibly impressed with the versatility of this instrument when compared to my Strat or GLP, both of which have many more tone controls, etc. I can really recommend this guitar. I'm glad I opted for the dual pickups (SL60), but I'm sure the SL59 with a P90 is just as good.
