Fender American Professional Jazz Bass - Tradition for Professional Use!

The Fender American Professional Jazz Bass carries more than six decades of Jazz Bass history forward in a configuration consistently tailored for professional use. The classic construction of a solid ash body and bolt-on maple neck provides the familiar foundation, while Fender has selectively refined numerous details in the neck, electronics and hardware. The unmistakable character of the Jazz Bass remains: two independently controlled single-coil pickups, a 34" long-scale length and the immediate playing feel of an instrument that's been at home on stages and in studios for generations.

Slim "C" Neck With Contemporary Refinements

The maple neck is shaped in the popular Slim "C" profile, combining the slim Jazz Bass ergonomics with carefully rolled fretboard edges. The "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish on the back of the neck provides a comfortably smooth surface, while the front of the headstock is finished in gloss urethane. Additionally, the newly contoured neck heel improves access to the upper registers. The maple fretboard features a 9.5" radius and is fitted with Narrow-Tall frets. This blends Fender's traditional Jazz Bass proportions with a feel designed for precise and comfortable playing.

Two V-Mod III Single-Coils For Classic Jazz Bass Versatility

The two V-Mod III single-coil Jazz Bass pickups form the sonic core of this model. Fender has tuned this generation for particularly articulate response without losing the Jazz Bass' characteristic punch and clarity. Each pickup has its own volume control, allowing seamless blending between them. The classic wiring is rounded out by a shared tone control. ClassicGear Precision potentiometers are engineered for even taper, defined resistance values and a musical response curve, supporting direct, finely controllable operation of the instrument.

Ash Body And HiMass Pro Bridge

The solid ash body follows a traditional Fender wood choice and, together with the maple neck, forms a distinctive structural base. The 4-saddle HiMass Pro bridge allows either string-through-body or top-load stringing and is designed for increased sustain. Fender Lightweight Vintage-Style tuners with tapered shafts complement the package, combining a traditional look with a lightweight construction. A bone nut, the asymmetrical 5-bolt neck attachment and the proven passive electronics complete the concept. This keeps the American Professional Jazz Bass instantly recognizable as a Jazz Bass while adding targeted details for regular stage, studio and session use.
