Acoustic Drum Kit Meets Modern Hybrid Technology!

The Yamaha EAD20 electronic acoustic drum module blends the natural sound of your acoustic kit with powerful digital sound processing, electronic drum sounds and comprehensive recording features. The newly developed sensor unit mounts to the bass drum hoop and captures your entire drum kit via a tuned XY stereo microphone arrangement. At the same time, an integrated kick trigger detects your bass drum. That makes the EAD20 ideal for recording, streaming, practice, online lessons, content creation and modern hybrid drum setups.

Natural Stereo Recording With Easy Setup

The sensor unit combines two matched condenser microphone capsules in an XY configuration, enabling a balanced capture of the entire acoustic drum kit without complex individual miking. An optimized housing design and decoupled microphone mounting reduce unwanted mechanical noise. The sensor unit also integrates a kick trigger so electronic sounds can be combined precisely with your acoustic bass drum.

2.203 Sounds and Extensive Effects

The AWM2 sound engine provides 2.203 voices and a maximum polyphony of 256 voices. Over 50 preset scenes and 200 user scenes enable flexible sound setups. Reverb, FX1, FX2, master FX, compressor, equalizer and other processors allow detailed shaping of mic and trigger signals. You can also load your own samples and combine them with your acoustic drum kit.

Recording, Streaming and DAW Integration

The built-in USB audio interface supports both 2 In / 2 Out at up to 24-bit/96 kHz and 8 In / 10 Out at 24-bit/44.1 kHz. This lets you flexibly route mic, trigger, effects, backing and click signals for multitrack recording and streaming. In addition, recorder, looper and sampling functions are available directly on the EAD20.

Expandable Into a Versatile Hybrid Drum Kit

External drum pads and triggers can be connected directly, with up to 9 pads supported via Y cables. USB Trigger Link also allows connection to compatible external drum modules. For comfortable practice, the EAD20 offers an AUX IN, a configurable click and separate headphone outputs. Through the Yamaha EAD Touch and Rec'n'Share apps you can conveniently edit settings and create, edit and share audio and video recordings.
