The new Efnote 3 Style-B brings the proven quality of the EFNOTE 3 into an even more flexible format. With a larger 12" Kick Pad and a 12" Hi-Hat, it offers a realistic playing feel for beginners and advanced players alike. Ideal for playing at home, in the rehearsal room, or at small gigs, the Efnote 3 Style-B remains just as powerful and user-friendly as its predecessor thanks to the proven sound module.
Exceptionally lifelike sound is delivered by elaborately produced multilayer samples. Each of the 111 factory sounds consists of 127 individual samples, achieving an extraordinarily high dynamic range. All sounds are editable, and 50 user memory slots are available for your own creations.
The compact sound module features a sturdy metal housing and is operated via a touch screen LC display. Its clearly structured menu allows even inexperienced users quick access to all functions and settings. Sounds can be tuned, muffled, and EQ’d. Additionally, there is a virtual mixer that lets you individually adjust the volume of sounds and route them freely to the outputs.
The integrated metronome and rhythm box are perfect for practice. You can also stream songs and play-alongs to the module via Bluetooth. The EFNOTE 3 module includes a built-in USB audio interface that can transfer 8 digital tracks to your computer. It also has 2 analog outputs, making the EFNOTE 3 equally suitable for live and studio use as well as teaching purposes.
The snare and tom pads, fitted with mesh heads, each have three sensors under the playing surface. This multi-trigger technology ensures exceptionally high sensitivity and extremely precise response. Additionally, the snare features a third playing surface, allowing 100% accurate separation between cross stick and rim shot. Mis-triggering is thus completely eliminated. The kick pad is equipped with 2 triggers, making it ideal for use with a double bass pedal.
The cymbal pads, including the hi-hat, are playable from all sides (360°). This eliminates the need for a device to prevent cymbal rotation. The crash and ride cymbals are triple-zone pads, allowing you to play the edge, bow, and bell. All cymbal pads also feature a choke function for manual muting.

Assembly was relatively quick and easy. Connecting and laying the cables was also straightforward. If you expect high-quality hardware, you will be a little disappointed. It looks a bit cheap and wobbly, but it serves its purpose and works so far. The visually appealing stands are sufficiently stable for the rehearsal room, but it remains to be seen whether they will also prove themselves in live use. At some point I will probably replace the snare stand supplied with a more stable one.
Now to the essentials: The sound and playability. The drummers who have played on the set so far have been pretty impressed with the sounds and the adjustment options of the module. Even if the presets don't sound bad, with a little fine-tuning you can get really great and authentic-sounding sounds out of drums and cymbals. In particular, the hi-hat, which is critical for almost all electric drums, can be adjusted very well and finely and largely adapted to personal preferences. So far, nobody has had any complaints about the playability of the set, and that's saying something for drummers who normally mainly play acoustic sets.
In any case, the drum sound in the rehearsal room is now excellent and, for me, hardly distinguishable from that of an acoustic set. And thanks to the ability to adjust the volume of the drums to that of the other instruments and vocals, the rehearsal room sound is finally transparent and very pleasant for everyone. Mission accomplished, so to speak.
I like the Efnote 3 B so much that I now want to start playing drums myself. And that's a lot of fun, I'll tell you that much. Conclusion: I can recommend the set with a clear conscience, even if the hardware components don't give the highest quality impression.
