Alesis Strata Core

Every detail of the Alesis Strata Core is designed to provide advanced and experienced drummers with a responsive and natural experience. The mesh Strata drum heads have adjustable tension, the 360° ARC cymbals are freely movable and respond like acoustic cymbals, and the Active Magnetic Hi-Hat delivers crisp precision and accuracy.

The Core’s drum sizes save much-needed space in a studio setup without compromising playability. The dual-zone mesh toms offer a realistic feel, and the curved steel rack with reinforced mounts provides numerous mounting options. The 12" dual-zone mesh snare drum and 12" hi-hat deliver excellent, familiar response when playing. Combined with the 8" mesh kick, you’ll feel right at home whether using single or double kick pedals.

Drums

A dual-zone snare drum with independent sounds triggered on the head, rim click, and rim shot, followed by 8"/8"/10" toms and an 8" kick drum, offers a generous playing surface suitable for all single- and double-bass pedal setups. Tension is adjustable on all mesh heads, allowing you to fine-tune rebound and expression exactly to your liking. Unnatural and unwanted “hotspots” on the heads are eliminated by the unique, patented anti-hotspot sensor design.

ARC Cymbals

The Strata Core ARC cymbals are exceptionally sensitive and feature a beautifully spun surface. All three cymbals—the 14" ride and the two 12" crash cymbals—are three-zone and produce different sounds triggered at the bell, playing surface, and edge of each cymbal. They are all 360° responsive, so you can play anywhere on the cymbal, and they can be mounted on standard cymbal stands, allowing them to respond and resonate naturally without restrictions. All cymbals feature dual-edge sensors and profiles that enable incredible expression without requiring you to adjust your technique.

Hardware

The backbone of the Strata Core is a curved steel rack that mounts the toms, cymbals, and module. It’s sturdy yet flexible, providing a spacious and compact footprint so you can position the kit ideally for your setup. The ARC hi-hats attach to any hi-hat stand, and the 8" kick pad accommodates any single or double pedal configuration. Crash and ride cymbals can be mounted on standard cymbal stands and are not restricted to rack mounts.

Hi-Hat

The 12" Active Magnetic Hi-Hat is an excellently playable magnetic system mounted on a stand. Like the cymbals, this triple-zone 360° playing surface is extremely responsive. The magnetic position detection ensures pedal movements are translated with high resolution, making this contactless system unmatched in accuracy. This module-powered device can be used with a variety of hi-hat stands and playing techniques.

The Heart of the Strata Core

The heart of the Strata Core is a powerful drum module with a 7" touchscreen display and a robust BFD sound engine running on a multi-core processor. With over 25 GB of content spread across 75 kits, more than 370 kit parts, over 800 articulations, and more than 144,000 samples with multiple adjustable microphone channels, you’ll find the perfect fit. Experiment with the “Stacks” feature to layer articulations and mix individual microphones. Control options include a rotary knob, separate volume controls, and Bluetooth 5.0 streaming. Jam creatively with a customizable trigger engine supporting all modern Alesis e-kit triggers, MIDI connectivity, and USB storage for sample imports.

Sounds

The multi-core processor runs the legendary BFD sound engine. This massive drum kit library was perfectly sampled by top sound engineers in some of the world’s best recording rooms for drum tracking.

The Strata Core comes with four sound libraries:

• BFD Dark Farm - an expansion pack for pure acoustic rock from the BFD team
• Alesis Core Electronic - the best of the one-shot electronic drum sounds from the Alesis Strike Multipad, perfect for layering with acoustic drum samples
