Sela SEHP203 Harmony Handpan D Kurd 9+3 Stand Set

Expressive Handpan Sound With Three Bottom Notes!

The Sela SEHP203 Harmony Handpan D Kurd 9+3 combines a spherical, long-lasting tone with exceptional melodic variety. This high-quality percussion and melodic instrument made of stainless steel features twelve tone fields in total, nine on the top and three additional bottom notes on the underside. With its popular D-Kurd tuning in D minor, a tuning frequency of 440 Hz, and an elegant matte gold finish, this handpan is ideal for intuitive music, meditation, and varied sonic journeys. Especially the three additional underside tones expand the musical possibilities and make the instrument appealing to beginners and experienced handpan players.

D Kurd 9+3 With Extended Low Range

The D-Kurd scale is one of the most popular handpan tunings, prized for its harmonious D minor character. The central tone field of the Sela SEHP203 is tuned to D3. The top side features eight additional tone fields: A3, Bb3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4 and A4. The special feature of this model is the three additional bottom notes tuned to C3, F3 and G3. Located on the underside of the handpan, these extend the melodic spectrum with interesting lower timbres. In particular, the C3—located below the central root D3—enables varied musical contrasts. This opens up new possibilities for expressive melodies, harmonic progressions and rhythmic variations.

High-Quality Stainless Steel for Long Sustain

The Sela Harmony stainless steel handpans are crafted by hand and professionally tuned. Their stainless steel alloy is characterized by particularly long sustain and a fast, sensitive response. Struck tones remain audible for a long time and blend into atmospheric soundscapes. Compared with handpans made from nitrided steel, stainless steel rings longer, making it especially suitable for slow, relaxed and meditative playing styles. Clear tones can be produced with very little force. The low-maintenance stainless steel construction and matte gold finish combine premium material properties with an elegant look.

Intuitive Playing With Versatile Possibilities

The Sela Harmony D Kurd 9+3 is ideal for anyone who wants to experience music in an immediate and creative way. Because the tone fields are tuned to each other, harmonic melodies can be played even without music-theory knowledge. Advanced musicians use the additional bottom notes to develop more complex sequences, chords and polyphonic melodies. Beginners can first focus on the nine upper tone fields and gradually integrate the three underside tones into their playing. Besides solo playing, the handpan is suitable for musical combinations with other handpans, tongue drums, guitars or other percussion instruments.

Padded Bag With Backpack Function

For transport, the Sela SEHP203 comes with a black padded bag made from tear-resistant nylon fabric. The protective padding ensures your handpan is safely stored while on the move. Thanks to the adjustable shoulder straps, the bag can be worn comfortably as a backpack. Alternatively, two carrying handles are available. A practical exterior pocket offers space for small accessories like a metronome.

Handpan Stand

The Sela handpan stand is a lightweight, foldable playing stand specifically developed for handpans and percussion instruments. The height of the handpan stand is 61 cm, making it ideal for comfortable seated playing. At the same time, the stand increases freedom of movement. With the attached cords it can be easily and continuously adjusted in height.

Microfiber Cloth

The Kirstein microfiber cloth, with its especially soft and smooth surface, provides optimal dust pickup and leaves surfaces perfectly cleaned. Even extremely delicate surfaces can be cleaned scratch-free with this cloth, because the overlock stitching is very fine and delicate. Thanks to its relatively low water absorption, the Kirstein microfiber cloth is excellent for dry use.
