When I tested the rings for the first time, I could hardly believe how much better the toms suddenly sounded without dampening them too much (sustain). I had to buy them right away for my drum kit (a Pearl Midtown) and was able to remove various other dampers. I have one ring on the 10" high tom, one on the 13" floor tom, and one on the 13" snare.
