With an 88-key piano action, the GHS keyboard (Graded Hammer Standard) mimics the touch of an acoustic piano, from a naturally heavy feel on the lower keys to a lighter touch in the upper octaves. The GHS keyboard offers the functionality and playing feel of a grand piano, enabling fast repetition and authentic expressive control. Additionally, there is a half-damper function that authentically replicates the damper effect of a grand piano, allowing for diverse expressive variations.

Harmonic Resonance Like a Grand Piano – Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite)

One fascination of the grand piano is the distinctive resonance created by the vibration of the entire instrument. The YDP-145 reproduces this strong resonance effect through groundbreaking technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite). VRM Lite generates a rich sound by simulating the complex resonances that occur when string vibrations transfer to the soundboard and other strings. This happens according to the timing and intensity of playing on the keyboard and pedals.

The YDP-145 uses a newly developed "Tone Escapement" technology on the back, which, in addition to the speakers, projects the sound from inside the piano outward. This way, you experience natural sound radiation and three-dimensional resonance like an acoustic piano.
