The DG-30 combines Kawai’s authentic digital piano keyboard and sound technology with the traditional design of a grand piano in elegant high-gloss black. Like a fine piece of furniture, the DG-30’s compact dimensions enhance almost any room. Its shape creates the illusion of a grand piano even in the smallest spaces.

Authentic Playing Feel

The DG-30 digital piano’s Responsive Hammer III (RHIII) action features various characteristics of a grand piano mechanism essential for replicating a realistic playing motion.

Thanks in no small part to the precise triple sensor technology, players experience a very natural touch. The keyboard weighting is graduated to reflect the heavier bass hammers and lighter treble hammers of an acoustic piano, while structural reinforcements in the action ensure greater stability during fortissimo and staccato passages.

Additionally, the DG-30 features Kawai’s "Ivory Touch" key surfaces that support playing by absorbing finger moisture. The keyboard also includes touchpoint simulation for perfect control during pianissimo playing.

The beautiful sounds of the Kawai SK-EX and EX concert grands and the SK5 grand are at the heart of the new DG-30 model. All 88 keys of these instruments were carefully recorded, precisely analyzed, and reproduced on the DG-30 using a special process. This individual key sampling and playback guarantee an excellent sound image with the character of the recorded concert grands. Playing these sounds on the DG-30 keyboard is a unique experience. The built-in reverb supports the beautiful tone, making it lively and realistic.

With the extensive options of the Virtual Technician, sounds can be perfectly customized. Intonation, string resonance, damper resonance, damper noise, hammer noise, and other details can be individually adjusted.

Grand Performance with Luxurious High Gloss

The attractive DG-30 cabinet is finished in luxurious high-gloss black with silver hardware for an elegant modern look. Minimalist yet traditional, it’s always an eye-catcher. When the lid is open, the beautifully polished wooden soundboard and polished inner sides are revealed.

The DG-30 features two lid props allowing the lid to be opened at two angles. This lets you adjust both the sound and the visual impression. Using the longer lid prop sets the lid to its maximum position, perfectly projecting the sound into the room. The shorter lid prop produces a quieter, slightly darker tone.

The music rest angle can be adjusted—just like on a concert grand—to suit the player’s position. If needed, the music rest can also be laid completely flat.

USB to Device with MP3/WAV Recording & Playback

Data can be saved directly to a USB stick or loaded from a storage device into the instrument. This USB to Device function allows saving songs to external storage, as well as playing back stored MIDI files (SMF) without additional hardware. Direct playback of songs (MP3 or WAV format) is also possible. You can record your own music as MP3 or WAV and share it with friends who can listen on their smartphones or burn CDs on their PCs.

The DG-30 also features a USB to Host port, enabling MIDI data exchange with a connected computer. Additionally, the DG-30 digital piano offers a range of standard connections such as Line In, MIDI ports, and line-level outputs for connecting to external amplifiers.

Besides the USB to Host port and MIDI connections, the DG-30 is equipped with Bluetooth MIDI technology for wireless communication with smartphones or tablets. This lets you use a wide variety of music-related apps in conjunction with the DG-30. A Bluetooth audio interface connection is also possible, allowing you to enjoy all your music directly through the DG-30’s speaker system—ideal for play-alongs.

Additional Features: Lesson Function and Grand Feel Pedal System

The DG-30’s lesson function supports learning piano with an integrated collection of typical piano study pieces by Beyer, Czerny, Burgmüller, Bach, and the well-known Alfred piano courses. Each exercise can be played back at variable tempos with individual left or right-hand playback before recording together with your own playing for self-assessment. A four-hand mode is also included, allowing teacher and student to play simultaneously in the same octave range.

The DG-30 is equipped with the Grand Feel Pedal System. This Kawai-developed system replicates the resistance of the three pedals (sustain, soft, and sostenuto) of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand. The pedals are also correctly positioned for authentic feel.

Piano Bench

Classic Cantabile piano benches offer not only a high-quality look but also premium features such as sturdy legs with non-slip rubber feet, a smooth, precise spindle mechanism for height adjustment, and a durable, extra-large 55 x 32 cm comfortable seat covered in easy-care cord fabric. The cushion can be easily removed if needed. The solid wood construction ensures stable support and a load capacity of up to 120 kg.
