The Revolutionary Modular Flagship Cajon

The Sela Iconic Cajon with Ziricote playing surface is a genuine game changer for percussionists, combining three instruments in a single cajon.

On the cajon's side panels are the interchangeable drum heads, called ions. Each ion offers its own distinct percussion voice. The cajon ships standard with a Cuban ion and a Turkish ion. Optionally available are three more variants: Guinean ion, Kenyan ion and Peruvian ion.

Cuban Ion

The Cuban drumhead, inspired by Afro-Cuban percussion, is hand-crafted from 100% natural goatskin. Each skin is unique in thickness and color. For greater flexibility and durability we recommend conditioning it with a plant-based balm — this lets you adapt the tone to your individual playing style.

Turkish Ion

The Turkish ion, inspired by Turkish percussion, features a blue or green synthetic head that resists moisture and changing climate conditions. It is very lightweight and should be protected from sharp objects. Its thin profile delivers high responsiveness and strong projection with powerful mids and bright highs. It is especially suited to the "Turkish" playing technique.

Includes Hex Key with Handy Holder in the Sound Hole

With the hex key you can adjust the tension of the snare strings on the underside of the cajon and thus change the snare sound by tightening or loosening them. You can also swap the ions using the hex key.
