Yamaha TRBX605FM MAM - Matte Amber - Electric Bass!
The TRBX600 series is all about the perfect balance of elements. The punchy tone of a 3D-formed Alder/maple-laminated body, the timeless look of flamed maple, the power of Yamaha's 3-band active/passive preamp, and the playability of our slimmest bass neck. Everything you need, exactly how you need it.

Special Electronics
The TRBX600 models feature an audiophile active/passive circuit for exceptionally refined tone control and extreme flexibility. The advanced design provides level-consistent output whether in passive or active mode, and a tone switching that seamlessly transitions the treble control into the master passive tone.
High-quality, gold-plated parts are used on the contacts of the key signal chain to improve conductivity. A battery alarm LED installed on the back instantly indicates when battery power is low, preventing sudden loss of power.
Great tone, outstanding comfort, boutique looks. Zero compromise!

The bass looks like a premium instrument. The Red Burst is super well done and beautifully dark. The transition of the maple top to the alder body is only visible when you are really close to it. Overall, the body is smaller compared to other basses, but that doesn't bother at all.
Why the active-passive switch is not also in dark metal, but in chrome, probably only Yamaha understands...
Processing
Right out of the box the setup is super playable. Just tune it and the fun can begin. Surely one or the other has to adjust the string action according to his needs, but that's the case with every instrument. I get along with the factory setting super.
Playability
Due to the slim neck the bass is very comfortable to play. In addition, the low weight means that even longer sessions are no problem. Only with the pickups you have to be careful not to touch the magnets with your fingers because of the missing protective cap to avoid noise.
The fingerboard is relatively wide. Who has small hands, so can get the 5-string possibly problems.
Sound
One word: great. I love the sound of this bass. Especially the neck pickup sounds mighty rocky. If you like it a bit more jazzy, the bridge pickup is great. The 3-band tone control works as expected and processes the sound so that everyone finds their desired setting. Compared to the 500 series, the 600 series sounds a bit clearer and more open. I wouldn't have expected the other woods to make a difference, but in direct comparison it is clearly audible.
If you turn the treble control all the way up, however, you can hear a buzz, especially in active mode. Presumably, the bass catches the electromagnetic vibrations of the environment (PC, monitor, etc.) and passes them on.
Other
The strap pins are very small. Here you should either use strap blocks or install strap locks.
The battery compartment is accessible without a screwdriver, which is a significant relief.
Different dealers offer the different colors at sometimes significantly different prices (sometimes more than 100€ difference). Here, an intensive comparison is worthwhile; so the DRB of Kirstein was not found in the price comparison, but on the homepage then revealed the bargain.
Conclusion
Buy it! A great bass that could well be sold for 1000€.
