A few years ago I bought the Ibanez SG805MS as an introduction to the world of multiscale basses and was immediately impressed. Now I wanted a bass with a longer scale length, especially for the B-string. Based on my positive experiences, I decided to go straight back for an Ibanez model and am once again very impressed. The bass looks great (mine is much darker than in the photos), has an incredible feel and plays as smooth as butter. There are no dead spots, the bass is well balanced and the sound is great. When you consider what other manufacturers charge for a similar instrument (which is then also made in Asia), you wonder how Ibanez can offer such quality at a comparatively low price.

Ibanez was so far ehre on 3rd place with me, but this bass is definitely one of the best instruments I have ever played.
The instrument is top processed, was excellently adjusted and had no quirks. I tuned the bass completely down a whole tone
(A-D-G-C-F-Bb) and the sound is fantastic. Especially in the very low registers, the sound is very clear and assertive,
Besides, you can also feel how the wood transmits the vibration.
You get used to the long scale quite quickly, as well as to the jack with its sealing. The search for
strings is a bit tricky. Personally, I am an Addario user and no set of strings is long enough or matching ones are not yet
listed at dealers, so I switched to Dingwall, because they fit guaranteed.
Conclusion:
I can recommend this instrument to anyone who would like to have a multiscale bass at a fair price.

In search of a new 5 string, I first came across the Ibanez BTB605MS only because of the appearance. A review attested the gem, besides the optics, great sound characteristics and good playability. So I ordered the part and my expectations were exceeded. The sound is very flexible and "modern". As a bass player in a metalcore band, I have to stand up to two guitars and driving drums, which is no problem with this axe. In conjunction with my Darkglass ADAM, the post goes off! I was pleasantly surprised by the playability of the bass. Never before have I flown over 5 strings with such ease as with this sweetheart.
